Still have a few dirty cops
e 205th street, Bronx. Observed by norwoodcitizen on Thu, Aug 26 2010
Despite a lot of work by the community, our elected officials, and IAB, the Dirty Five-Two still won't pass up an opportunity to give their lying, cheating buddies a free pass!
MTA Police placard used to park illegally at a difficult turn on a narrow residential street. Basic common sense would dictate that an FDNY truck may need to be able to make a turn ON A BLOCK WHERE A BUILDING ALREADY BURNED TO THE GROUND!!!
But does the Dirty Five-Two care? Absolutely not! They're obviously more interested in being best buds with their dirty cop brothers everywhere.
Let's get real - it is you JOB to ticket ANYONE parked illegally. Don't care if they're job is being a cop. That doesn't mean they can break the law - it makes it that much more important that they do not break the law!
If they can't do the job, they need to be fired. In this economy, we can find plenty of honest, brave New Yorkers who will actually enforce the law, instead of breaking it!
Tuesday in the Dirty Five-Two (Part IV)
206 and Perry, Bronx. Observed by norwoodcitizen on Tue, Jul 20 2010
Sometimes the dirty cops are so thick, you can't even get to the end of one block without coming across another one.
Apologies the photo isn't a little more clear. If you look, you can see the No Parking Anytime sign - the vehicle in question is the white one down at the corner. Clearly parked illegally.
Dirty Five-Two simply does not care. One dirty cop parked next to another, and they leave them all alone.
They're too busy ticketing the taxpayers who pay them for (maybe) parking a few inches too far the wrong way.
Meanwhile, the cops are breaking the law all over the place, up and down the street, around the corner... you name it, there's a dirty cop parked there!
Half of the reason the streets are literally so dirty is that with all the dirty cops parked, the street sweepers can't clean properly.
Welcome to the filthy world we live in, thanks to the Dirty Five-Two!

Here's a Pennsylvania vehicle with a 2001 MTA Transit permit for a Manhattanville location that we see in parked an 8th Avenue at 51 Steet loading zone.

Three MTA bus dispatchers who won't take the bus (or subway)
55 fourth ave, Manhattan. Observed by IamEntitled on Tue, Mar 11 2008
En route to and from work today I observed three different locations in Manhattan well-served by public transportation to which MTA bus dispatchers drive their personal vehicles and park illegally. I observed the second one on West 23rd Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues as he sweet-talked a traffic agent from writing him a ticket. After she walked away, I mentioned to her it's interesting how these guys work for the bus company but can't bother to take the bus or subway. She giggled. But it really isn't funny that these guys use nothing more than a reflective orange vest or a homemade placard in their front windows and get away with it. Shown here is a dispatcher's car frequently seen at Astor Place, approximately 20 footsteps from the 6 train and 15 paces from several bus lines. Can't the MTA's bus dispatchers utilize the MTA's buses and subways to get to work like the rest of us?
I'm lovin it!

MTA parks in the bike lane to get takeout from McDonald's, and is surprised upon his return to see the guy on the bike snap his photo. (Note the guy on the bike who had to steer into traffic around this parked MTA vehicle.) The "BIKE LANE • BIKES ONLY" sign and marked bike lane were of course clearly visible to the offending driver, who summarily ignored it. As plenty of parking spaces were available free of charge on this Sunday morning, such actions make the folks at MTA look like a pack of sloths.

MTA NYCT Dept of Buses Surface Line Dispatcher
1st Ave and east 14th st, Manhattan. Observed by lawandorder on Wed, Jun 06 2007
There might have been bus dispatching going on, or there might have been coffee purchasing going on. Who knows? This person illegally parked their private car at a hydrant. That we do know.

These are impressive-looking blue permits, nicely laminated with a Staples-quality gold embossed seal of the NYCTA. They are especially great to use when your spouse wants to go shopping in SoHo, as seen here today opposite the A/X Armani Exchange on Prince Street. This block is a favorite for shoppers, particularly for SUVs with ambulette permits from various Hasidic charitable organizations in Brooklyn. I recently accosted one shopper displaying a placard obviously created on her home computer, stating: "That is the fakest permit I ever saw!" Her reply? "Works every time!"
