Not for Teacher
2nd avenue and east 14th st, Manhattan. Observed by lawandorder on Thu, Aug 07 2008
One of those DoE teacher permits that the UFT claims is never abused, here seen being used to park illegally.
These types of permits will be invalid in a month, and only a greatly reduced number of DoT-issed permits will be valid for DoE employees to use. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.
Blocking the hydrant
85 158th street, bronx, Bronx. Observed by futurebird on Mon, Jul 28 2008
The blue building is a private parking garage on 158th street. A guy came out of the garage and asked me why I was taking photos. I said it was illegal to park here.
(This was not during a Yankee game, not that it matters since it is a fire hydrant.)
[moderator's note: fixed Permit/Agency - this is a DoE Teacher's permit, not an NYPD one]
UPDATE: This is not a school zone either.

This permit is laminated and looks real nice--only problem is that the license plate it's for doesn't match the car.
Oh yeah, then there's the problem of parking in a commercial muni-meter zone.
Oh yeah, then there's the problem of this whole thing stinking to high hell
Oh, I do this everyday!

This car and others were not only parked on the sidewalk in a "No standing" zone, but judging by the snow on the windshield it had been parked there overnight! This man very considerately left his photo ID in the windshield. Should we blow his cover?
