Firefighters continuously doubleparking in Queens
Grand Ave and Queens Blvd, Queens. Observed by annoyed on Mon, Apr 02 2007
On Grand Ave near Seabury street in Elmhurst Queens, firefighters continously doublepark their personal vehicles all day long. Grand Ave is a busy congested street as it is. This location is one block from 4 bus routes and 2 subway lines. No excuse for this illegal activity.
Abuse of NO STANDING FIRE ZONE
Duane Street, Manhattan. Observed by traktorist on Fri, Mar 23 2007
"NO STANDING FIRE ZONE" was never meant to offer private parking for firefighters' personal vehicles. Yet this is how this area in Duane Street is used today. And even though it is just around the corner from City Hall, no one bothers to enforce the law. Some firefighters park on the sidewalk, others double park. In short - FDNY shows contempt for law.

This firefighter parked his car on a Sunday morning on Pitt Street and Delancey blocking the pedestrian crossing.
FDNY employee parked on sidewalk
S. 39th St (between 4th and 5th Aves), Brooklyn. Observed by sunset parker on Mon, Mar 19 2007
Giant Gold SUV parked on sidewalk on S. 39th St between 4th and 5th Aves in Sunset Park. I was walking to the laundry mat in the snow and ice and this jerk is blocking the way. Hello ADA violation! GOod thing I have use of my legs and could step off the icy curb to get around. Sorry grandma or wheelchair user, you'll have no luck getting past this behemoth. There were no fires in the area that night (I would have heard, I live close to station) can't imagine why mr. or ms. firefighter would need to block the sidewalk in such a manner.
