This driver is using a USPS union placard to park illegally.

Parked illegally, and almost certainly committing insurance fraud too -- this truck has been parked outside the post office here every day for years with North Carolina plates. Oh, and they parked this truck on the sidewalk too!

This USPS employee is fraudulently using another employee's placard to park illegally, this time in a No Parking Anytime zone. At other times, she uses it to park on the sidewalk.

Not only does the USPS employee park on the sidewalk, but she is using somebody else's placard.

In general, the workers at this post office (Peter Stuyvesant Station) break the law daily with their cars -- parking on sidewalks, double parking, parking in No Parking Anytime zones, and, apparently, providing copies of USPS placards to local residents to enable more illegal parking.

Oh, and customer service at this post office is terrible.

mismatch in license plate. this is a chronic problem with this car in this location. since 311 calls are ineffective, the next step will be to call the USPS Office of Inspector General.

This USPS employee apparently has no problem affording an Audi, a house in the Hamptons, and ski trips (judging from the ski box on the roof). But when it comes to parking, the owner shuns the for-pay garage across from the post office and parks illegally in a "No Standing Anytme" zone.

As of March 1, "spoof" permits such as those issued by Planetarium Station for their 80-odd employees are subject to summonses, towing, and "further prosecution":

The place YOU belong is West Virginia, not parking illegally with a Planetarium Station "permit" in a "No Standing Anytime" zone with West Virginia plates. What kind of "further prosecution does Cmr. Kelly have in mind for you?

This guy does not work for the post office, yet he has a post office placard, and parks in a No Parking Anytime zone reserved only for Post Office employees.

Pretty common with this post office. They often park on the sidewalk and double-park.

I suspect that this guy is also committing insurance fraud because he's had the same South Carolina plates for over a year. His older Cadillac also had South Carolina plates for several years. Something tells me he's not commuting from the The Palmetto State every day.

These guys love parking on the sidewalk, double-parking and not paying for meters.

On the east corner of ninth avenue just south of 30th street, both a postal worker and a traffic control officer, parked in the two spaces for taxi relief. The DMV is more than 4 blocks away from this corner.

Here's another reason why the FDNY should not park on the sidewalk next to this school . . . it provides cover for frauds like this guy with NYPD parking enforcement, who apparently believe that anyone brazen enough to park on the curb here must be too important a public employee to ticket.

Let's see, how many laws can this guy break? He's got a fraudulent permit, he's on the sidewalk, and he's straddling a "No Standing-Fire Zone" and "No Standing 7-4 pm School Zone," at 3:30 pm.

How long will it take for LE, FDNY, and all the other detractors of this site to recognize that the present system--in which anyone with a scrap of paper on their dash gets to do whatever they want with their car--has to be changed?

What's with the Alabama plates and a USPS Planetarium Station placard in this No Standing Anytime zone? I think this guy may have overstayed his welcome in the big apple as he was issued a $180 parking ticket more than 2 months ago in the Bronx, according to the DOF. Why is NYPD parking enforcement letting this guy park illegally for free when there is pay lot across the street?

Admin, "AL" needs to be included in the pull-down list of states for inputting plate info on posts.

Why should this guy with PA plates get to park in the "No Standing Anytime" zone just because he (might) work at the post office down the block? Would this guy choose to drive from Pa. if he had to pay to park like the people in this neighborhood? Or maybe he lives in the neighborhood, and fraudulently registers his car in Pa. to save on insurance?

Also, the permit bears the handwritten number "72"--that's a pretty large number of permits to be issued by a neighborhood post office.

The postal employees at Planetarium Station treat this stretch of "No Standing Anytime" curbside parking as their own personal parking lot. There were a number of placard-less cars on the block with tickets when I came by--why are parking enforcemt personnel honoring these placards and subsidizing USPS at the expense of the city, the community, and the owner of the pay lot right across the street?

No control number or expiration date on this permit. Apparently can't even fool traffic enforcement (at least not all the time); this guy has an unpaid $125 ticket for parking in this no standing zone last month.

Looks like it was altered. Whichever it is, its expired. It's also invalid in this no standing anytime zone, even if it were current. And what's with the North Carolina plates? Can you say insurance fraud?
