"Official Business" = busy breaking the law as an official?
e mosholu parkway n and 206th street, Bronx. Observed by norwoodcitizen on Tue, Jan 25 2011
What "official business" does the New York State Executive branch have on a quiet residential street in the Bronx at 8:30 at night, that requires parking in a spot signed NO STANDING ANYTIME?
Especially when there were still legal parking spots available within two blocks?
Or is yet one more person using some official credential to break the law in our community? Breaking the law with absolute impunity.
abuse of parking permit; parking on no parking street
103 Macdougal street, Manhattan. Observed by blowthewhistle on Fri, Mar 27 2009
Driver parks in front of his apartment building overnight and during the day. Van blocked traffic during nearby visit from fire department's trucks. Van blocks street cleaners in the morning. Driver of van clearly perceives himself as above the law. "No Parking Anytime" sign is attached to pole directly in front of van, to the right in the picture (van is parked directly under sign).

Rules do not apply to the boss. As a state worker I hold a similar placard. I can not imagine any agency at this locataion worthy of a placard. For what its worth I was attending a training at Hanson place and took the train that day. Given the mentality of my agency I'd guess the owner of this vehicle is a leftover Pataki hack yet to be gotten to by Patterson. Pataki's people still run everything.
Is this an Emergency or a Party???

They came out in force on South Elliott Place in Fort Greene on Tuesday. The Black Crown Vic in the middle is parked on the sidewalk almost every day, the Taurus was previously reported, and bringing up the rear is a van with some workers or contractors. The area has many reserved spots for state vehicles, and is adjacent to almost every subway line in the city across the street at Atlantic Ave. and around the corner on Fulton Street.
Why doesn't this car get a parking ticket?
96 lafayette st, Manhattan. Observed by ameko on Wed, Mar 21 2007
The sign says "NO STANDING ANYTIME" It is not right to illegal park. There are ridiculious amount of "permit only" parking space in the downtown court area, and yet own of this mercedes HAS to park in this spot.
Either way, this car should have been ticketed. Issue a summon, and then let the person appeal w/ his/her explaination as to what kind of "Official Business" that leads him/her to park illegally. :-P
And Yeah! I got your plate number. if u dont want ur plate # to show, STOP PARKING ILLEGALLY! then no one has to bit*h about their cars being targeted and the whole privacy stuff.
Flagrant abuse of police permit
River Terrace and Warren Street, Manhattan. Observed by 1985bianchi on Tue, Mar 20 2007
Admin Note: This permit is NYS Police-Executive Branch, not NYPD
This police officer parks his new, $70,000 Corvette on River Terrace at Warren Street. He has parked in the exact same spot for over a year. He uses his unmarked police car (grey Impala, plate #CWG4813, permit #058309) to hold his parking spot when he takes his Vette out. At one point he had two Corvettes. As you can see from this photo, a Vette with a car cover that hasn't been moved since before last week's storm clearly can't be on "official police duty."
