Parks in No Standing Zone to spend day at mall shopping with wife
9003 56 ave, Queens. Observed by hiyall on Sun, Oct 12 2008
Endangers all who have to navigate past this off duty cop - too cheap to pay for legal parking across the street
Next to school, between merging streets and near 2 malls.
I guess this guy doesn't like bus riders
184 Avenue A, Manhattan. Observed by lawandorder on Tue, Sep 09 2008
Pretty common site. This driver has moved from parking in front of hydrants and in no parking zones, to parking in the bus stop across the street. This fraudster has now affixed several pins to his fake federal law enforcement placard -- how cute.
The geniuses at 311 marked down my complaint as an "illegal bus layover". Of course, the 9th precinct said they didn't find anything in violation, without even bothering to leave the precinct house.

Car with "On official business" parked illegaly at curb
41st street ad newtown, Queens. Observed by Hamster on Mon, May 12 2008
This corner spot is illegal because it crosses the building line to the corner. People always get a ticket for this violation. Today is Monday 5-12-08 and this car has been parked here since at least Friday 5-9-08. It is a student car with school sticker on back windshield and student parking sticker on front windshield. Must be a cop's kid using the placard for their own use.
Federal Police in the Crosswalk each Week
Bridge St and Whitehall St, Manhattan. Observed by downtowner on Tue, Mar 25 2008
This car shows up at least 3 times a week in the same place--in the crosswalk. This is a very busy crosswalk used by most of SI Ferry commuters on their way to the 4/5.
Appears that the placard is not legal (judging by the list of legal permits on this site). At a minimum, the car is illegally blocking the crosswalk.
This is within the Blue Zone at the corner of Bridge and Whitehall Streets.
Fake permit, again..
191 Avenue A, Manhattan. Observed by lawandorder on Wed, Mar 05 2008
Update:
8 minutes after the 311 ticket was filed, the 9th precint closed ticket with this message, "The Police Department responded and upon arrival those responsible for the condition were gone."
In other words, they didn't even leave the precinct building.
He's back

And here I thought he had had a change of heart. I guess not.
Federal faker continues
189 Avenue A, Manhattan. Observed by lawandorder on Sun, Jan 27 2008
update: 9th Precinct again closed the 311 ticket falsely, less than an hour later, stating: "The Police Department responded to the complaint and with the information available observed no evidence of the violation at that time."

9th precinct has a problem with the truth

This car was here since last night, but the 9th precinct claimed that it wasn't. I filed a new 311 ticket.
Here is last night's violation:

Almost like seeing an old friend
189 Avenue A, Manhattan. Observed by lawandorder on Fri, Dec 07 2007
This guy parks here illegally every night, after a hard day at work in upstate New York and a long drive down the Throughway and NYS Route 17. Each night, he displays his fraudulent federal placard, even though he is not a federal law enforcement employee.
Each night, I take photos of his truck (or sometimes his wife's SUV along with her illegally obtained UFA placard). Each night I file a 311 ticket, which the 9th Precinct either dutifully ignores, or lies about when they close the ticket.
[Update: As predicted, the 9th precinct lied when they closed the ticket, saying that they couldn't find the violation. here is the new ticket:

Federal faker continues
189 Avenue A, Manhattan. Observed by lawandorder on Sun, Nov 11 2007
I know that the Homeland Security bureaucracy is huge, but I couldn't seem to find the "Federal Law Enforcement Group". That's because it doesn't exist, and because this is a fake placard.
For someone who claims to love the USA so much (as evidenced by the signs plastered all over his truck), he sure doesn't seem like obeying its laws.
[sorry about the terrible picture quality.]

325 W 52nd St, ny, ny, Manhattan. Observed by lawandorder on Fri, Nov 02 2007
Sorry, but sticking a "National Police Defense Fund" placard in your window does not entitle you to park anywhere. The driver also had a "Federal Agent - Official Business" sign in his window -- also not valid. The posted sign was "No Parking Anytime Except Authorized Vehicles - Post Office Vehicles".

This guy has a fake placard that says "Federal Law Enforcement Group" on it. As has been documented before, this is a fake placard, and someone has already been arrested trying to pass this off as legal: http://www.papba.org/media-archive/nyp-archive/nyp-050118-id.html
Same fake placard as this guy:

A question to the law enforcement personnel out there reading this: this person poses a threat to your safety by posing as one of you -- how do I get some official action on this, seeing as the 9th Precinct seems disinclined to investigate? Call the local FBI office?
A 311 ticket has been filed (under a provisional number, as the 311 system was on manual when I called). Let's hope that the 9th Precinct responds this time.

US Parks Police in No Stopping Anytime
