Expired Official Business placard used by NYC Council plate
East 10th St and Avenue A, Manhattan. Observed by lawandorder on Wed, May 14 2008
This driver parked her car with NYC Council plates in a much abused No Parking Anytime Zone. Her car had an expired NYC Official Business placard in the window. She then went into the Boys Club of New York on East 10th st.

Brooklyn BP, Marty Markowitz, Illegally Parked on Sidewalk Outside Borough Hall
Joralemon Street and Court Street, Brooklyn. Observed by Wright on Fri, Jan 11 2008
Last night I went to Borough Hall to attend an open house for the Downtown Brooklyn Transportation Blueprint Study. A priority initiative of the blueprint is the “introduction of a package of new effective strategies to deal with permit parking abuse in Downtown Brooklyn.” (action #19)
As I left the event, I noticed another car parked on the sidewalk outside Borough Hall that wasn’t there earlier. It stuck out from the other permit abusers who illegally park on the sidewalk because it belongs to Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz (the vanity license plates make this clear). It’s completely irresponsible for Marty to publicly flaunt his illegal parking while the City is trying to stop permit parking abuse. I think it’s even more outrageous that he would do this while DOT is inside, presenting initiatives to stop parking scofflaws like himself.

Warren St and North End Avenue, Manhattan. Observed by BatParkRanger on Fri, May 04 2007
Permit states that the vehicle is on "Official Business." This Range Rover was parked in this NO STANDING ZONE, close to the corner for a minimum of 15 hours from 8PM on 5/3 to 11AM on 5/4. At around 10PM a saw a man getting something from it while his female companion waited. Maybe I can get some business like that!
