In your definition I am parked illegally so just to prove a wonderful point I will divulge where I am parked.
66 street between 2nd and 3rd avenues.
You will find about 10 cars parked here with 19th PCT parking permits at a NO STANDING ZONE. I dare you to even come and tow one of our cars. Come on I await thee. I will be at work by 3pm and I get off after 11pm. I would be extremely surprised to find any one of our cars towed away. I do hope you will make bail for GLA. HAH!

We are not special by any means we do a dangerous job that you could not possibly understand. So ABOVETHELAWURNOT just say Thank You and dont Question the way we provide your safety. We have a very different job its not your typical 9x5 job sitting behind a desk. Public transportation does not work for alot of us because we work weird hours, and work overtime, and live outside this cesspool of a city.
Do you get off at 2am (if you get off on time) then have to wait three hours for the first bus or train to where you live, then have to be back at 530 pm? When would we get time to spend time with our families? For most of us, public transportation is NOT a feasible option. When the city provides proper parking for us then maybe will can park legally. Yes hydrants are inexcusable, but most everything is a necessity.
Also, where I work and have to park there is a housing development. You can bet your sweet a** that the residents take full advantage of our SEZ and not get ticketed for it, that is why you will NEVER see my car or one of my colleagues cars on this site, the residents are way too smart to screw up something good for themselves.

I brag because I can without fearing any retribution. I boldly stand behind the fact that nothing will be done about this and that idea alone causes the people of this site to lose sleep at night. Everyday I park my car on 66 st and guess what? No one gives my car a summons or even asks me to move. Now that is power my liberal friend. I am so brazen that I beg you to try and change my parking local and to this date nothing has been done. That is how sure I am of myself. This bogus crusade against NYPD SEZs is withering on the vine and I AM LOVING IT!
Oh BTW, this is day 4 and I am parked in the same area on 66 street. Please try and post my car today on your site. I am envious of my coworkers who have become famous at our command. We are running a pool as to see who's car will be posted next. Please please please post mine.

Comments forwarded to the "Law and Order" mayor for action. Challenged to keep his campaign promise.
Soon to bite Guiliani on the ass, as if his federally indicted ex-police commissioner wasn't enough.
They got Kerik, who do you think you are Mr powerful? Even the Mafia knows to keep it's mouth shut and not brag about what they get away with.
Perhaps there's a bigger picture being watched in the 19th than the parking. If anything comes of it, I'll see you get credit.

Bottom line is that my fellow cop is correct when he states nothing will be done especially when it is condoned. Instead of wasting the mayor's time with complaints of supposed parking abuse why don't you people ask him to provide parking facilities for the cops of your area. It they build the garages they will come and parke there.
Pool your resources and influence the right people to get this done. It would only benefit you in the long run. Till this is done I suspect that I too will be parking at the hydrant within my command's S.E.Z knowing full well that your complaints will fall on deaf ears.

#22. You're trying to compare SEZs to mob connections? That's QUITE a stretch there.
#24. These people don't want parking garages, they want city residents who don't own cars who take the subways and buses everywhere, all the time.

Why do people who know nothing about police procedures always anoint themselves self professed experts. You know nothing of NYPD rules or guidelines. You erroneously assume that the Patrol Guide is a rule book when in fact it is a GUIDE BOOK. Duuuuuuuuh, thus the title. Please refrain from speaking about matters you can not possibly comprehend before you have a stroke. Many rules of the NYPD are unwritten and just because you cant find them does not mean that they do not exist.
What is this crap your talking about an A/C car failing to radio into the precinct that he was pursuing into. Dude, you watch to many cop movies. That does not exist. I am a cop no matter where I go in NYC and I do not need permission to enforce the law in Brooklyn if I work in the Bronx. You sir are making yourself look like an fool with the stuff you are talking about. I order you to stop making me laugh. LOL.
As for the parking condition I will not hide my guilt. I park my car within a SEZ at a hydrant or crosswalk because "I CAN DO IT". I will not humor you with any excuse except that I choose to do it because I can do it and fear no reprisals from my supervisors or the lame ducks community leaders in the community. Who will summons my car? NO ONE. The main reason your or any community leader does not make an issue about this is because he is bestowed an NYPD parking permit for his own very use. The NYPD has all its bases covered thus ensuring that you will always feel like you do not belong. We take care of our own and those who are perceived to be a threat are welcomed into the fold(i.e community leaders).
I love it when silly people that say they will call the FBI about this supposed parking corruption and I say to you "DO IT". I would pay a million dollars to see the FBI stroke you and patronize you into thinking that something will be done when in reality NOTHING WILL CHANGE. This is not an issue of corruption especially when SEZs are real. Even the FBI has a SEZ.
OH HOW I'M LOVING THIS.
Keep up the good work people. MUAHAHHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHA!
#27, last I checked this was a democracy, and the citizens had a right to know the rules. If they're not written, they're not legal. If the average citizen can't comprehend them, they're not democratic. That's the difference between democracy and corruption.

don't be jealous...we in the thin blue line take care of all brothers in blue...sorry..yuppie and or hipster...thats the way it goes...
Abovethelawurnot... what gives? why the hostility and obvious envy towards the people that protect you ungratefull libs. I would love to see someone come by and tow any officers car. as for me, I try to park legally but if I cant find a spot... you know what? I'll park where ever I can (as long as it isnt a hazardous condition) to go to work or even conduct my personel buisness. Abovethelawurnot., stop crying bring your tow truck to Flatbush and lets talk.
Bklyncop1- I've Never Threatened Anyone With a Tow Truck So, I Don't Know to Whom Your Referring Too. As For Your Comment About " I'll park where ever I can (as long as it isn't a hazardous condition) to go to work or even conduct my personel buisness." That Just Proves Your Arrogance! Why is it, That if I Have to Look for a Legal Spot While Running Personal Errands, You Should be Allowed to Because, Your "Bklyncop1 with a Permit" That is Supposed to be Used While on Duty and Legally. Theres No Hostility on My Part Just Fustration that Those Who Uphold the Law Feel They Can Break it When it Accommodates Them!!!!!!
Do you know why? because we can... Lets say for example you work at Mandie's and you see a pink tutu that you like, you'll by it at a discount because you can. I can't do that so should I come into your store with razor blades and vaseline and scratch your eyes out? No!!!! I dont care that you have that perk, good for you, So do me a favor stop crying about my perk.
It Would be Kind of Hard to Find a Pink Tutu for a 6'4" 270 lb. Construction Worker and I Don't Even Know What a "Mandies" is (Sorry that You Do). Lets Say for Example I'm Building a Deck for My Home and I Worked at the Home Depot (A Real Mans Store)I Would be Entitled to a Discount on Plywood and 2x4s, the Difference Here is that Discount is LEGAL!!! It's NOT a Perk When It's Illegal!!
Let's Say I Went to a Police Equipment Store to By Handcuffs for Me & the Wife to Spice Up the Romance and You Were there Buying a Spare Set, You Would Get a Discount Because Your Law Enforcement and I Wouldn't "That is a Perk" Not, Parking at a Hydrant, Bus Stop, Curb Cut Out, No Standing, Expired Meter, Talking on Your Cell Phone While Driving, Wearing No Seat Belt Etc. You Know, Things that the Average Citizen Would Be Ticketed for Why? That's Right it's Against the Law.I Know, I Know Police Officers are not Your Average Citizens, I Apologize.
These Answers Can Be Answered By Anyone Who Knows How to Google, What Does that Prove (NOTHING). I Won't Even Give You the Satisfaction. Believe What You Want Justin. and Have You Ever Heard of VACATION. I Will No Longer Respond to Your Comments or Bklyn1cop Comments Just State Facts. Thank You For Being a Public Servant for So Many Years. God Bless You & All Who Wear the Uniform. Be Safe Out There..
Why don't you just give everyone in NYC a parking placard that way no one gets ticketed and we can all park in front of our jobs! Why should everyday hard working people get ticketed up to $110 or more (more than 1 days pay for some people) when the city and state officials get to park their PERSONAL not official vehicles anywhere they please without consequence?
As #28 says, this is a democracy and the laws are supposed to be enforced, by none other than police and other officers, not broken by the very people given that responsibility. What people are debating is the abuse that these placards allow city and state officials, and believe it or not, just by this simple parking issue shows how city and state officials believe they have the POWER and ability to do anything they want. People now have more Contempt rather then Respect for these officials. And that's not the message that should be coming across to the citizens of this city.
Amen!!! You are 100% Correct. A lot of the Comments (Not All) Made by Law Enforcement and Anonymous Persons on this Site, Just Add Fuel to an Already Out of Control Fire Which is the Blatant Abuse of Authority by State and City Officials.
The Wedge Between us Just Keeps getting Bigger and Bigger.
I've Gotten a Couple of Summonses Which I New Were Bogus and Every One of them I Fought, for It was a Matter of Principle. I Knew I Was Not in the Wrong. I Would Take a Day Off Work and Work Saturday to Make it Up. I Think The Reason Why We, the Average Citizens Get Ticketed (When We are Truly not in the Wrong) is Because the City Feels a Person Would Rather Just Pay the Fine than Take Off from Work and Lose Out on a Days Pay, Which is Usually More than the Ticket.
Thats Why this City Will Never Have Traffic Court on a Saturday Like Certain Other States do. It's Hard for People to Feel Admiration for Certain Individuals Who are Allowed to Break the Laws that So Many Others Pay for Time and Time Again.
Its funny that you say a wedge between us... Who is US? the police and us? what does that mean? Who elected you people to monitor what we do off duty? Doesnt it seem like there might be more important things out there than parking perks that people can pick on? Better yet why not just live your life and let everyone else live theres and thats that... If people just learned to mind there own buisness then maybe the world would be a better place to live in. I dont fully understand why people who feel like making a difference riding bikes eerywhere should feel like EVERYONE should. you ride bikes, take the train, ride the bus, walk ,whatever .... good for you, some people feel like driving everywhere, why should you care? More or less this planet isnt going to get better or worse with less cars on the road... believe it or not, the planet is going to be here much longer than anyone we know. I love my SUV and my Harley without baffles, is it bad for the enviorment? probably, but its not going to kill us any time soon. The wedge that you refer to is simple.... we dont bother you so why should you bother us? I understand some people get tickets for parking illegally but thats just done for 2 reasons... MONEY and saftey... I myself park where ever I can as long as it does not cause any hazardous condition. If I park my car in a no standing any time area, who cares... those areas are there for a reason... this site will die down soon and I as the rest of you will find another outlet to bash who we hate. But remember as much as I hate you libs for picking on stupid s**t , remember 2 things... theres a war going on and even if I hate you I'll still help you in your time of need.
P.S By the way war doesnt mean Iraq, it means the war on the NYPD...
Obviously Someone Needs to Monitor What Goes on Off Duty as Well as On Duty, Since it Seems Like No One Else is. As far as People Minding their Own Business, It is our Business Since We are Tax Payers. Why Should Some Get Away with Things Others Get Punished or Penalized For. As far as "We Don't Bother You and You Don't Bother Us", Well it Seems that is Not the Case. Average Hard Working Individuals Get Penalized on a Daily Basis Were Others Get a Free Pass Due to their Status or Affiliation.
The Bottom Line is Laws are Laws for Reasons and Everyone is Expected to Uphold them (Especially Those Who Enforce Them) in Order to Have a Civilized Society Which We All Can Live in, and Not Use Bias in Enforcing Them. Contrary to What alot of City and State Affiliates Believe, This Site Will Not Die Down In Fact its Like a Snowball Effect. As Long as Theres Snow (UNCIVIL SERVANTS) this Snowball Will Continue to Roll and Gain Mass and Momentum.
As Long as Average Descent Law Abiding Citizens Have to Put Up with People Abusing their Authority and Possibly Causing Dangerous Conditions, While they have to Pay for the Same Violations, there will Always be a Platform for People to Vent and Demand Action. I'm Not Saying Parking is the Only Issue Here, It Just Happens to be the Focus of this Site.
We do have rats that monitor what we do off duty as well as on duty... But the point is let them do the job the get paid to do. If parking violations are not an issue for the dept. then why should it be 4 u? Did you know that emergency vehicles are exempt from certain laws? For example- cops, firefighters, EMS workers, even cabdrivers are not required to wear seat belts, its a exception in the VTL. are you going to bitch and cry that its not fair? How many seat belt tickets have you received over the years? is it fair that some people get away with out wearing them? I never actually thought of it being considered fair, even before I became a cop, I never really cared what people can get away with. Good for them. Is it fair that a mom and pop local bar will be shut down if my 119 year old babysitter gets caught drinking there... BUT!!! all the underage celebrity whores can drink and smoke and do God knowswhat in "upscale" clubs and no one says a word. Is that fair? Bottom line No one is a angel , everyone has done something that would or will piss someone off. even you Mr. ABOVETHELAWURNOT, think long and hard, is it possible that even you are not a perfect citizen? think about that before u answer me back. I'm sure if a listed a whole list of things that probably done wrong you'll say "_________" . nothing probably.....because thats what it comes down to...remeber the saying in the bible, about who casts the first stone? Do you still wanna throw?
#45-I'm Not here for Grammar Lessons Just Justice. As Far as the Queens English, I'm From Brooklyn Not Queens (LOL). Instead of Critizing My Writing or Spelling ,Why Don't You Contribute Something Useful to This Site.
Bklyncop1 & Habib:
I'm Tired of Hearing About Lowly Civil Servants and the Citys My Garage I Can Park Where Ever I Want Blah, Blah, Blah!
You Talk About the Bible and Casting the First Stone, But What About all the People in N.Y.C. Who Believe in Scientology? it Does Not Apply to Them, So Lets Just Stick to Facts and Laws....
P.S. I Type the Way I Feel and Personally I Don't Care What Anyone Thinks About it.
OK... first off I would never pull over a Harley especially a Fat Boy....second, why dont you stick to what you know and thats construction and not law. Go back to school get a education, become a politician and then change things to suit u...
Working where I work has trained my nerves to deal with all kinds of people so there is nothing you can say that will rattle my nerves. As for demanding equal treatment... why is there over one hundred posts here for the NYPD and not lets say FDNY? Have you or anyone else driven by a firehouse? The cops dont even park as awfull as they do but for some reason most of the pictures here are of police personel. explain that...
Oh they give tickets at hydrants... But thats not the point... why doesnt anyone on this slick little site bother to look at firehouses? I can guarantee you that on one single block directly in front of the firehouse there are more violators of your "saftey hazards" than in the entire SEZ of any pct. in the city. We park within our SEZ, firefighters are lazy and spoiled, they cant walk a block... they need to be pampered. BOTTOM LINE...... No one wants to hurt a firemans feelings, but when it comes to the NYPD... open season. I challenge you to get off your whiney butts and talk a bicycle ride to any firehouse in the city. Let me know what you see.....
Wow, You said "firefighters are lazy and spoiled, they cant walk a block... they need to be pampered. BOTTOM LINE......" Those are pretty Harsh Words. I do Recall a Couple Dozen of them Making it up 80 Something Flights of Stairs with Full Bunker Gear on 9/11 but, thats not the Point. Point is its not Bashing time, it's time for those who Impose the Law follow the Law. If Members of the FDNY Violate Laws they too Should be Penalized. Whats Right is Right and Everyone Should have to Follow the Same Rules and Regulations. No One Should be Exempt from Following the Law.
When a Nobody has no Valid Point to Make They Nit Pick, Isn't that Right CROSSWALKviolator..... Which Words did I Misspell Genius? Further More this Isn't about Grammar, It's about People Like You Thinking their Above the Law. URNOT!
ABOVETHELAWURNOT, I don't think I am above it, I know I am. I answer to no one but myself. I am retired and self employed. I get get a pension and benefits from this city for life and might I ad that they can never be taken away. I could kill 20 people and still my check would be forwarded to me in jail.
I thank you and the other 8 million people of NYC for paying into my pension plan.
You said "No One Should be Exempt from Following the Law." What you call exempt, I call overlooked. No one is exempt, the city uses discretion. Dont get me started about 9-11, thats a whole different topic, dont get me started.
Have you had achance to drive by the firehouse yet? I expect to see some pictures up by tommorow...
Breaking the laws you are sworn by an oath of duty to uphold is NOT serving us, which is your job. That is what WE PAY you for. Every cent you have comes from the taxpayers you seem to have zero respect for. You're a cop, that's nice, your job is dangerous. There are hundreds of jobs in this city that are far more dangerous that offer NONE of these perks. Heard about all those happy workers on the Verrazzano bridge lately? You ever risk falling hundreds of feet for upwards of 12 hours a day five days a week? I didn't think so.

LOL

Posted on Tue, Apr 17 2007 at 07:46 PM

P.S COPS ARE ALWAYS ON DUTY!!!
Posted on Thu, Apr 19 2007 at 11:51 AM
P.S. COPS ARE ALWAYS ON DUTY!!!! If You Say So.

To the anonymous writers on this site,
Why don't you just give everyone in NYC a parking placard that way no one gets ticketed and we can all park in front of our jobs!
No one should be allowed to abuse power, no one.

Cositacat,

Posted on Sat, Apr 21 2007 at 05:28 PM
OK... first off I would never pull over a Harley especially a Fat Boy....second, why dont you stick to what you know and thats construction and not law.
Posted on Sat, Apr 21 2007 at 10:20 PM
FDNY Personal Don't Give Tickets for Violating Laws Like NYPD Does...Plain and Simple! NYPD Gives Tickets for the Same Laws they Themselves Violate!
Posted on Sun, Apr 22 2007 at 01:36 PM
Posted on Sun, Apr 22 2007 at 02:29 PM
Posted on Sun, Apr 22 2007 at 05:06 PM
When a Nobody has no Valid Point to Make They Nit Pick, Isn't that Right CROSSWALKviolator..... Which Words did I Misspell Genius? Further More this Isn't about Grammar, It's about People Like You Thinking their Above the Law. URNOT!
Posted on Sun, Apr 22 2007 at 05:54 PM
ABOVETHELAWURNOT, I don't think I am above it, I know I am. I answer to no one but myself. I am retired and self employed. I get get a pension and benefits from this city for life and might I ad that they can never be taken away. I could kill 20 people and still my check would be forwarded to me in jail.
I thank you and the other 8 million people of NYC for paying into my pension plan.
Posted on Sun, Apr 22 2007 at 05:56 PM
Your Welcome.
Posted on Mon, Apr 23 2007 at 09:53 AM
You said "No One Should be Exempt from Following the Law." What you call exempt, I call overlooked. No one is exempt, the city uses discretion. Dont get me started about 9-11, thats a whole different topic, dont get me started.
Have you had achance to drive by the firehouse yet? I expect to see some pictures up by tommorow...

GUESS NOT :-(
Posted on Thu, Sep 20 2007 at 01:36 PM
Breaking the laws you are sworn by an oath of duty to uphold is NOT serving us, which is your job. That is what WE PAY you for. Every cent you have comes from the taxpayers you seem to have zero respect for. You're a cop, that's nice, your job is dangerous. There are hundreds of jobs in this city that are far more dangerous that offer NONE of these perks. Heard about all those happy workers on the Verrazzano bridge lately? You ever risk falling hundreds of feet for upwards of 12 hours a day five days a week? I didn't think so.
