Parked in... the intersection.

Observed by boerum hill blues on Sat, Apr 14 2007

So, props to this guy (or gal) for carefully not blocking the sidewalk or the crosswalk (a frequent practice here near the house of detention). But I guess nobody reminded them that it's illegal to park in the middle of the intersection.

There's no violation code for "parked in intersection" (who could imagine doing this?) so it's coded "parked in crosswalk".

i think he is very considerate. he is not blocking the sidewalk or the crosswalk. he is not affecting the flow of traffic in either direction. you should give him props. with more officers caring about the community like him the SEZ area can be effective and the car is nice too.

I got a ticket for being less in the crosswalk than his rear bumper is. When I called to complain, numerous Brownie and cop cars showed up because the arrogant ass who took my firmly insisting call told the cops I made threats.

Aparently insisting a supervisor check a summons for literally being 2 inches into a crosswalk or a complaint will be made translates into a threat.

This guy is blocking the roadway and needs to be towed FORTHWITH! That's the kind of parking done by drunken drivers.

The code for parked in the intersection is blocking the roadway. If you look closely he's not only in the crosswalk and roadway, but he's blocking the wheelchair curb cut.

The local precinct and Traff Enf come into the local shopping mall, (private property), and write parked in handicapped tix.

Then they park lke this.

Nothing wrong in this picture. Thisis another example of a S.E.Z being used at its best. If this were truly illegal then his commanding officer would have him move the car. Totally permissable behavior within a S.E.Z.

#5 I'll say it again, there are no such legal entities are S.E.Z's. They have no standing in the law.

SEZ it has been an unwritten rule forever and Salguod could tell you about verbal contracts. Now if the city pushes the issue Police unions can push this issue during contract negotiations. You know what the city is going to do; instead of giving a raise they will include a SEZ into collective bargaining. Now that means two things, First they will put enough signs in the area for restricted parking. If that doesn't work then they will just let the cops park in the area of their Pct. the way they are parking now. I don't agree with cops parking illegally around their residence but at work I agree(not on hydrants). I do feel for the residents who live in the downtown brooklyn area but before I would move my family next to a prison or central booklng I would do some research. What makes me laugh is the parking is a bigger issue than the crack heads and the skells hanging around central booking and court. maybe it is a good lesson for your children as they are walking to school you can tell Johnny; this is what happens if you do bad drugs not pot, than you could wind up here in jail and do you see those blinking lights, that is where daddy has to get the bail (bondsman). Just remember Johnny you see that police van parked on the bus stop they are the Devil.

So lets see.. The dollar cabs are worse so it's ok, there are crackheads coming from court so this is ok, the CO says it's ok, it's in an imaginary zone they claim is in the contract and isn't, I'm a cop so it's ok.

I'm just feeling it a little hard to be courtesied, professionaled and respected right now. Give me a minute.

Thumb_48

I will never pay another parking ticket issued to me by this city. I will use this website as my basis that the law is not treating every person equal. This city is corrupt, the police are corrupt, it's nothing new.

how do we know this person is even a cop ? i zoomed in on the picture and from what i can tell, there isnt even a placard in the window. id be willing to bet this is just somebody who stopped for a second to throw something away at the corner garbage can or something. nobody can argue that this is an unacceptable and inexcusable parking job, but we dont even know that it is a parking job...please provide some better pictures next time, if youd truly like to make your point.
