Doggie, I don't know what the exterior of 890 Broadway looks like but there is a school inside (M442). If you check www.nyc.gov and then go to the Dept of Education you can find out where schools are located-they even give you a map. According to that map, 890 Broadway is by 19 St. It's an unfortunate commentary that almost all schools have a School Safety Agent assigned but that is life in the big city. I would hope that students of M442 spend their day studying their lessons and practicing their dancing skills (M442 is also known as the NYC Public School for Dance) but you never know.

Where's the school??? The better question is: Wheres the meter? An even better question is: If there is a meter, how do we know its expired?

If this photo was offered as evidence of an infraction or parking violation, it would not be received into evidence because it shows absolutely nothing about any type of alleged violation.

In fact, based on your Pulitzer Prize winning photo, I can’t tell if this vehicle is parked legally or illegally. I see no meter, expired or otherwise, nor any parking signs. With the bogus post that “doggie” posted about the union square "violation" and the “driveway violation” of the Postal Worker, all I can say is...

"Bad doggie", your owner should whack your nose with a newspaper!

Steve, Efficient Streets, Salgoud: How do you let posts like this stay on the site? This is pure hearsay and speculation and takes away from your mission.

It's probably a MUNI-METER block.

First of all I just don't understand what would distinguish this a "violation." Did you do a three-block sweep of the neighborhood or something to determine that it wasn't near a school? In fact there is school M442 on Broadway/19th Street (NYC DOE's Website). Also, considering that you observed this on a Wednesday, it seems even more likely the officer would be on duty.

Yes, #2 is correct. It is also a Wednesday, as in a weekday. It's very possible that this officer is on duty at the very moment you took the photo.

For crying out loud, school saftey officers are not police officers. They abuse thier parking permits on a regular basis thus giving the nypd a bad name. Out of principle they should be summonsed like the rest of the whiny liberals on this site. only give the courtesy to real NYPD members.
