Observed by beanstalk on Mon, May 07 2007

Sorry if this is getting redundant. I don't even post them all. Roght now (Morning of May 10) there's a shindig and all the No Standing area is bulging with these important people.

You live in one of the safest parts of Manhattan, and have nothing better to do than post pictures of cars parked outside of the place that is the reason for your security?

NONE of these cars are blocking roadways, sidewalks or ANYTHING. This is really, really petty.

While there isn't an obvious safety story here, there's got to be a reason why those stripes are there -- and if this is supposed to be official parking, then it should be so designated. It still boils down to officials acting like the law & the rules don't apply to them -- anytime you see public officials systematically and routinely breaking the law, even a small law, it undermines their integrity.

Okay Salguod. You just don't get it do you? I'll break it down as easy for you.

-This area is a Gracie Mansion SEZ.

-This area is used FOR cars going to Gracie Mansion.

-The rule is, cars going to Gracie CAN park there while YOU can't.

-Changing the "signage" to say so is only wasting tax dollars and time as the RULE will still be the same.

-There is NO safety hazard here.

-Nothing will change.

Seriously, I wish the city would spent the money and manpower on changing all the signs just so you guys would stop the crying over nonsense, but there's just NO reason for them to do so. Wasting the time and money to change all these signs is just foolish. The rule will not change so what's the difference?

It's parking for Gracie Mansion and it ALWAYS will be. The signs DON'T matter. Every SEZ is the same. It just is so get over it.

Ok this is Gracie mansion again. Has anyone been there lately? everytime I went there it was a ghost town. Morning Day and Night. Who cares if they park a cement mixer in the middle of the street, it's a dead street. Very little traffic and quite possibly the closest thing to a suburb street the upper east side has.

Hasn't it sunk in that the Mayor does not give a crap about this. We the chosen few have free reign to park where we want and we do it with his blessing. Did you not read his quote in the paper the other day?
Read it and weep.

No such thing as a no standing zone being part of any SEZ. No parking maybe, but not a no standing zone. No standing means definately no parking.

#4 Again, your SEZ does not mean anything. It's meaningless.

Its Gracie Mansion and the SEZ belongs to the MAYOR. Try calling him and leaving a message regarding his how illegal his SEZ. Do not be surprised if it is ignored. LOL.

Give credit where credit is due. This is not illlegal parking here. As much as I hate to say good about the city, this one is right...
