This vehicle is parked in a NO STANDING ANYTIME Zone. Clearly marked by a red sign.
Note that there is an ORANGE COLORED EZ-PASS(#12779)on the vehicle dash board which is only to be used by NYC registered vehicles NOT PERSONAL VEHICLES. This is fraud, depriving the city of revenue! Also, the NYPD placard use is restricted to NYPD vehicles only, not private vehicles.

How do you know its NOT a department vehicle in my unit I drive a 07 Jeep Cherokee, we also have Mazda minivans, and Chyrsler Pacifica's. They all have orange ez-pass'es and PD plaques.

If it has an orange ez-pass, it IS a department vehicle. The guy who posted this doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.
The department has a huge variety of cars, SUVs, and even trucks. This guy must think it's all black Crown Vics and Impalas. He should learn a thing or two about what he claims before posting.
As for the "No Standing" claim, is this a SEZ? If so, you have absolutely NO claim at all.

Permit No. 12779
Agency: NYPD
Personal car, no way a dept vehicle looks that clean.
You guys mentioned it yourself in other posts about missing hubcaps etc.
stop lying.

Oh yeah, It's clean so it MUST be a personal car. Great logic. You're a WINNER!

When the creator of this website and the contributing photographers start running into burning buildings; or start wearing gun belts and bullet proof vests to stay safe to go home their families; then you too can park anywhere you want.
Until then, try gearing your energy and "your will to do good" to a real cause.

I'm not really buying the "not a departmental vehicle" angle either, sorry -- but whether it is or isn't, it's not supposed to be a No Standing zone unless it's an emergency operation.
Also, placards can be used with POVs if authorization is given to use the POV for official use. (I still can't believe I actually read the AG, gack.)

I can tell it is a department car by the number on the permit. I even have an idea what unit it is assigned to. Knowledge is power!

Dept Vehicles have all switched to white EZ passes over the last two months

Why is this a no parking anytime location? It's a sidewalk. No problem no big deal. Mountain meet mole hill! Next "violator" please. Maybe one with merit!

HERE IT IS FOR ALL TO KNOW...
THE NYPD'S MOTORPOOL IS NONE OTHER THAN ENTERPRISE RENTAL CARS...
THEY LEASE THESE CARS FROM ENTERPRISE RENTALS...AND WHEN THEY ARE DONE THEY SIMPLY GIVE THEM BACK...NOT ALL ARE RENTED BUT ABOUT 40 PERCENT ARE LEASED FOR EXECUTIVE USE ONLY...NOT PATROL.
SO IN SHORT, THE NYPD HAS WHATEVER ENTERPRISE HAS.
BUT THERE ARE CERTAIN CASES WHERE THE NYPD OUTRIGHT BUYS OR LEASES FROM DEALERSHIPS...ONE CASE IN POINT..A CERTAIN 4 STAR CHIEF WHO HAS A DODGE CHARGER SRT-V8 HEMI R/T ...AND ITS HOOKED UP WITH LIGHTS AND SIRENS...

Alias you obviously have been watching too many movies. LOL.

What a freaking idiot. I used his image from the reflection he cast on the car's window to extrapolate a picture. He is a Male Puerto Rican in his early-mid 40s with a mustache and swollen face. For a a copy of his image email EDpolcat at NYPD RANT.
Finally we are putting faces on those idiots who choose to stalk law enforcement.

Great job Edpolecat.
BTW, I love your site(NYPD RANT)

I don't care if you see my face. Touch me if I don't touch your property and it becomes a federal case.
Are any of you dumb enough to risk the federal pen for a picture of your car? Perhaps we need to setup a sting operation, see who bites....

Federal pen? Hey FAT BOY, you've been reading too many dime store novels. You're an idiot.
Posted on Tue, May 22 2007 at 08:49 PM
That's amazing! Don't take it down. You took the picture, we have a right to know who you are, right?

Okay, this is for every one that thinks they KNOW about the EZ-Pass... Here is a small paragraph from Wikipedia "Each E-ZPass tag is specifically programmed for a particular class of vehicle, and while any valid, working tag will be read and accepted in any E-ZPass toll lane, the wrong toll amount will be charged if the tag's programmed vehicle class does not match the vehicle. This will result in a violation and possible large fine assessed to the tag holder, especially if a lower-class (e.g., passenger car) tag is being used in a higher-class vehicle such as a bus or truck. In an attempt to avoid this, E-ZPass tags for commercial vehicles are blue in color, contrasting with the white tags assigned to standard passenger vehicles. The blue E-ZPass is also used in government employee vehicles. In the New York metro area, an orange E-ZPass is issued to emergency vehicles and to MTA and PANYNJ employees"[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-ZPass]. Now, let me ask these people who are complaining about ILLEGAL PARKING.
Hypothetically speaking... You have a domestic issue with a family member/relative/partner and they are at ur door harassing u. You are assigned a detective that handles your case (Detectives get a variety of cars to use, sometimes they even use their own cars but the City will reimburse them for gas, mileage, and toll [ez-pass]). The person at the door is telling you they're going to kill u. So you're wondering why the detective is taking so long? Ohhhh he's looking for parking!!!
Also, the City uses Vehicles from Dodge Neons to Toyota Avalons to Dodge Charger RT/10's, Magnums, Mercedes as well.
Oh, Post #7, couldn't have said it better myself. These people want more and more but dont wanna pay for more... I feel the love here. =) <3
