Due to pressure from the community, which has contacted elected officials and Internal Affairs, the parking spaces right outside our park are (mostly) clear of illegally parked personal vehicles with NYPD placards.
But they only drove a short block away to go park illegally. And, surprise! They're not getting ticketed there.
Reported to 311 at 6:00 pm. Still in the exact same spot at 7:45 am, with no ticket!
How hard is it to get the NYPD to enforce the law? It's really difficult to get people in the neighborhood to trust the cops, when it is so painfully obvious they don't even follow the law on little easy stuff that everybody sees. What are we supposed to think they're doing when they don't think anybode is watching???

So what is the veh blocking now? I don't see any hash marks or other signage besides the no parking. There's clearly a sidewalk there. Please elaborate.

Um... first, it's blocking any appearance of propriety in law enforcement. The police are honor-bound and legally required to uphold the law; they should not be flaunting it.
Second, this location was identified by the legally authorized traffic engineers as a NO PARKING ANYTIME zone. There is a reason for this. If an FDNY truck needs to make the turn, it needs to be clear. Standing is allowed, since the vehicle could move to allow the fire truck through. A dirty cop leaving his personal vehicle there all night is not ok. And, again, it is not legal.
This is a civil society. We do not endorse authorities replacing their personal judgement for the law. We cannot tolerate it when they exercise poor judgement for their own gain, while endangering our community.
Clear now?

That's a very nice story norwood. The real reason there is a no parking sign there at the corner is because it is kept clear for drivers to see on coming traffic. That is why you see a lot of no parking signs at corners not to just let the fire trucks make a turn.

It's a t-intersection, dragonman. Visibility is not the issue. Check out the map. It's a narrow street - it's for turning radius.
But... even if you were right, you would be making my point. The dirty cop illegally parking his car here would still be putting the community at risk, for his own selfish laziness.

norwood. Did I antagonize you in any way? Why the attitude? I asked a simple question. You reply back with sarcasm. And you did not imply in your first post that it was an intersection. Justr because you posted a couple of legit photos does not make you a mod or give you the right to talk down to ANYONE on here. Get your attitude checked cause it's better to be civil than antagonistic!

If your posting wasn't meant to be antagonistic, I apologize. Perhaps you should check your own tone before complaining about others, though.
Re-reading your comment now, even with the benefit of the doubt, it still seems you intended to be rude and dismissive. As in, suggesting this was just some ongoing, baseless complaint ("So what... now"). As in, suggesting this instance of illegal behavior was really minor, since it didn't have the same problems as the prior complaints (" I don't see any hash marks or other signage...") And even suggesting that violating the NO PARKING ANYTIME sign was not worth enforcement ("besides the no parking").
You clearly recognized the vehicle was illegally parked in a NO PARKING ANYTIME zone, so why would you have needed any additional information?
If you did mean to be rude, then you should reconsider your own comments instead of complaining about the substantive responses you get from others. If, on the other hand, I just misread your meaning, then I'm sorry.
