The Dirty Five-Two In Action

Observed by norwoodcitizen on Wed, Jul 07 2010

Oops! That should read:
"The Dirty Five-Two Inaction!!!"

Cop cart pulled up alongside an illegally parked vehicle. Did not bother to even look at the placard (clearly the umpteenth time driving by this afternoon). Sat at the red light for the entire time to turn green only inches away from the illegally parked vehicle. Drove right off without doing their job.

All caught on camera.

Before somebody starts complaining that it is hard to read the NO PARKING ANYTIME sign directly above the illegally parked vehicle in the one photo posted here, rest assured there is adequate detail submitted to verify the vehicle was violating the posted parking regulations.

Also note this is not a self-enforcement zone. And the placard in the windshield was from an entirely different precinct anyway.

No excuse for the vehicle to be parked there. Even less for the Dirty Five-Two to stop just inches away, sit there for an entire signal light, and drive away without doing their job.

The commanding officers for this area should be ashamed of pictures like this!!!

Yeah, I'm sure that was it!

I always seem them chasing down the crooks in the little carts. I've never seen the carts roll down the street writing tickets.

And the cops always wait for red lights, especially at t-intersections, when there's a crime in progress.

Great point! Please, any more lame excuses?

You mean maybe they had something to do like "solve some crimes" EXCEPT the ones committed by the dirty cops? Which actually happens to be a whole lot of them in the Dirty Five-Two.

The LAW does not give dirty cops a break. If you can't accept that, you'll need to "get over it!" It is a disgrace to the law and to everything American that you would represent yourself as a law enforcement officer, while bragging that you feel entitled to break the law. You should be ashamed. You are shameful, whether you have a sense of propriety or not!

If the precinct cannot behave professionally, we will continue to work with IAB, elected officials and the DA's office. This criminal activity cannot be allowed to continue in a law-abiding society.

Besides, your comment doesn't even make sense.

If "they had another job to do," they weren't doing that "other" job either. They were just sitting at the signal light! They could have written out the ticket, thereby enforcing the law - which is their job - in little more than the amount of time they waited for the light to turn green.

Please stop making nonsense excuses for this blatantly criminal behavior.

Actually, you have me really curious now.

What other "brakes" do you treat yourself to? Help yourself to a free donut when you visit somebody's shop? Maybe take a little cash instead of putting it all into evidence? Where do you draw the line once you start cheating?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA bravo bravo with your little performance there that was cute now for some real facts: 1st of all where is this guy bragging about bieng a cop? As i see it ur the only one making a big deal out of it 2nd of all yes real crime like murders and rapes and robberies and breaking and entering being that this is the city and all and not some cop who parked illegaly that's why we have rent-a-cops you know "traffic agents" and 3rd of all wow ur working with the rat squad ill bet your mamma's real proud

You, mgv1992 appear to be representing yourself as a cop with your picture.

According to NYPD "broken windows," stopping the little crimes are what matter. That way you catch the criminals, or deter them, before they get to more serious crime. When you allow the cops themselves to progress up the chain of crime, you are bound to lose control.

Stop saying because there is additional support from "traffic agents" you don't have to do your job anymore. That's not true, and you know it.

See a crime, write the ticket already. No excuses. None.

Anybody who works to fight crime in their neighborhood should be proud. My mother certainly would be.

Crime by people who get paid to stop it is really the worst kind, too. You call people who actually earn their pay checks a "rat squad?" They only have to be there because you're so dirty they have to police you, instead of doing "real" work!!!

STOP BREAKING THE LAW, AND WE'LL GET TWICE AS MUCH ADDITIONAL WORK - THE WORK YOU'RE NOT DOING, AND THE WORK OF THE COPS WHO HAVE TO CLEAN YOU UP!!!

As far as the guy parked illegally, he is bragging about being a cop every time he puts the placard in the dashboard to park illegally.

He knows it's illegal, but thinks he's so "special" he can get away with breaking the law he IS SWORN TO UPHOLD.

He's a liar. A cheat. And a thief.
Fire him. And, if you're a cop as you seem to suggest, I hope you get fired too!

Are you saying dirty cops have to park illegally, and other dirty cops have to let them get away with it, because people commit murder in the city?

Again, nothing you say makes any sense. It's just a bunch of hand waving.

Do your job! Park legally, and ticket dirty cops when you see them break the law. It really is not that hard!!!

Um no every time he puts a placard up he's telling the traffic cops not to ticket him because he is on official police business as the placard says not emphasizing the fact that he's an officer of the law and as far as us getting fired im sure the NYPD has much bettere things to do then worry about cops who park in no standing zones hahahahahahahaha woo you crack me up!

norwoodcitizen

Really? "Official police business"???
Just when I thought your excuses couldn't get any more lame!!!

The placard is from the 49th Precinct. They have no "official business" in the middle of the 52nd Precinct. Especially not in the same place, at the same time, on such a regular basis the neighbors all recognize the vehicle.

Keep telling yourself the NYPD has better things to do than train professional law enforcement officers. If you keep that attitude, I'm sure you'll manage to get yourself fired one way or another soon enough.

But thanks for the laughs. I haven't seen someone wiggle so hard to make up a lame excuse in a LONG time! Bravo!!!

Oh yea the neighbors recognize the vehicle all the way down to the tag # rigt? Cause u have spoke to all the neighbors right? Thought so! And as for official police business maybe he witnessed a crime in progress how do u know? U don't! so why don't you go find something else to do in your spare time and as for me no i still have my job in the NYPD thanks!

It's really simple. When you're taking the picture of the illegally parked vehicle and a guy who works across the street comes out and asks if you're going to help because the cop parks there everyday, you know what's going on.

That is clearly not "official business." The dirty cop witnessed no crime other than his own.

Frankly, it is a ridiculous lie for you to claim that it is "official business." Your story itself is ridiculous... If he was in such a hurry to chase down somebody he saw committing a crime, would he really take the time to put up the placard. I was by the location twice, he was there at least 20 minutes, and there was no squad car there at any time. What exactly did he witness that he was dealing with for 20+ minutes, by himself, with no assistance from a marked car from the local precinct.... Come on! Your story is as ridiculous as all your other lies!

We all know better, why keep up the charade that this guy isn't getting away with breaking the law? You yourself said he "gets a brake." Why change your story now?

Did you suddently decide that the NYPD should be enforcing the law, insteading of giving themselves "a brake," so you feel the need to invent some excuse now?

Tell you what, you have the location. Why don't you call one of your buddies in the Dirty Five-Two and ask if he can go check if the same dirty vehicle is illegally parked there again. If it's there again, we'll both know he didn't just "witness a crime in progress," and your buddy can finally ticket this guy for breaking the law, right?

Of course, you won't do that. That would mean you would actually DO YOUR JOB, instead of pretending you're so special you can give yourself "a brake."

You just don't get it Noorwood do you. They will not ticket their own. Get over it. The only one complaining about it in your neighborhood is you. So that means nobody else cares. Why do you ask? It's because it opens up spots for the people who can't park there. So keep on complaining and keep taking pictures because nothing is going to change.

Don't assume that because I'm the only person on this particular blog that I am working alone.

There are many others who cherish our laws. And apparently my neighbors understand the importance of not burning down the rest of the neighborhood far better than you or the dirty cops. Parking is tight, but we have plenty of room for the half-dozen dirty cops to fit in if they'll just walk a block or two.

We are starting to see some improvement, too. This morning was the second day in a row I have not seen a single illegally parked cop.

So keep up the lame excuses. We are going to take our neighborhood back as a place of law and order. Unlike you, we have faith that even dirty cops can be reformed!

Maybe because the hard working police officer got home at a reasonable time for them to find a spot. It is not easy to find spots at 2 or 3 in the morning. Why don't you try it sometime.
