This guy lives in the neighborhood, yet has Jersey plates. And he parks in a Post Office permit only zone on East 13th between 1st Ave and Ave A. This zone is also frequently abused by local residents with fraudulent or stolen Post Office permits.
And the permit does not have a plate number on it, so who knows if he really is a cop?

Admins: If you look at the number of comments in previous violations they are significantly higher than the newer ones where one now has to wait admin approval for posting. I realize the whole situation with the threats as per Steve's post about the high school kid, however comments have gone from several dozen in each violation to now only a handful in each. While I disagree with the site, I still respect the opinions of the citizens of the City of New York, especially in regards to the NYPD and its policies. I believe citizens that can't complain to the NYPD about the NYPD or voice their complaints and suggestions are being denied a great service. I do believe law enforcement personnel should have placards. However, I wholeheartedly and honestly disagree with dangerous and abusive parking. I think better regulation of the placards that are recognized and issued should be enforced. In regards to the admin approval, perhaps you could set up a system where you can post immediately but administrators receive notice of any comment and can quickly intercept it if it is malicious or threatening in nature. People check this site regularly because they are either angry about the placards or defending the use of them. They also depend on comments afterwards to voice their opinions. If this site doesn't reclaim its reputation for being a place to voice your opinion, I can't help but feel like your campaign will be unsuccessful. After all, your mission is to educate the public.

Will, check your personal inbox for a response to this comment.
Short answer is that the intimidation in the comment section is not worth the time of the Admins. While comments have dropped off, so have threats, and that's significant to us.
Also, the comments are not the most important part of the website, the posts are. Every good post here allows our lawyers to initiate formal complaint proceedings with the various departments in each agency that handle misconduct.

Too bad alot of the comments point out that most of the posts are either not good, or just petty. Yet, the posts stay up, but the comments don't.

Thats because everyone who complains about the perks wish they could park like we are able to park.

He said the posts were petty, not the comments
