State Police Permit - blocking two sidewalks

Observed by kipkemei on Wed, Jun 13 2007

This driver blocks two sidewalks everytime he parks. Apparently his official state business is done at his home on the lower east side. He parks here every night when he is in town and every weekend.

Hey guys, I just wanted to commend you on a fantastic website. Since you posted my car here about 2 months ago, I still drive to work but get here about 5 minutes earlier and now park in a legal spot. I am sure that someone that lives in the area would have liked to have it but to bad now, I am just one of the masses! I dont bother putting my placard in the window because I am legally parked so its a win for me, I still drive to work and get to beat some poor resident of a spot. I have to admit I get a bit of satisfaction when I sit in the car for a few minutes and they by looking for a spot and end up driving away with this sad, pathetic look on their face when I tell them I am not getting out.

Kudos guys, I am certain you are making absolutley no difference!

It looks like he is in between two cross walks. You guys tried to get someone else for this exact spot but you took down the post because you realized there was nothing wrong with it. The spot is in between the crosswalks and there are no signs that dont allow it. People withour permits park there all the time.

Several months ago another poster wrote about this same parking space. As a retired DOT employee I looked at it and found that it is in fact totally legal and is between the two crosswalks (albeit it looks like a few inches overlap) and the sign that affects the space is merely an alternate side of the street sign.

Separately, I saw this car parked legally at other spaces over the weekend and frankly believe that your poster is causing this space to be lost and therefore another car to compete with the remaining spaces. I am sure that is not the intent of this website.

Wow, it will be a whole week tomorrow when no pictures have been posted! Either this site is cleaning up the abuse or no one cares anymore. It was more fun when anything could be posted in the comments.

First of all #9, who cares that you are a former DOT employee? You aren't the one issuing the ticket, a TEA is. And don't give me the crap that this is a legal space. I know that if a car without a placard parked here they would get either a $115 for a crosswalk or a $165 for a pedestrian ramp. Perhaps if they were unlucky enough to leave it there the whole day, they might even get two tickets for both of those infractions.
