bunch of illegal parking on 4th Ave

This was one of about 6 illegally parked private vehicles along 4th Ave, just below Union Square. Most seemed to belong to Transit cops (or so the permits indicated), although several were Handicapped permits (doubtfully valid).
I couldn't get the permit number on this one, but moderators please note that the plate numbers don't match, so it's an invalid permit.
The sign reads "No Parking 7AM - 7PM". It was 6:30PM, and I'll bet you that these cars had been there all day.

SEZ for Transit Distrcit 4 and when are people going to realize that if a plate does not match the one written on the permit, it does not make it an invalid permit. Most cops that live outside the city and have families have two cars. It could be that the cop took his wifes car into work that day for some reason. As long as the date on the permit says 2007, then it is good. Invalid permits are old ones. Fake permits are ones that are made on a computer or photo copied and cops do not have those, we have no reason to since we get the nice official ones every DEC/JAN.

Transit cops protecting the nice citizens? I think you mean FINING the nice citizens for breaking the same laws that these traffic cops have chosen to ignore! Give me a break!
