A very stylish Mercedes using a permit issued to the 70th Precinct seen parked in the No Standing zone near the Public Theater.
Owning an SL500 worth more than most officers' annual salary: very valuable.
Using a restricted-area permit on the SL500 more than 7 miles from your precinct: Pricele$$. Stands out like a sore thumb.

first of all the car could have been purchased at an auction. second the officer may very well be very well off if he is good at managing money, works a lot of overtime, and does private security work on the side for a lot more money than he makes with the department. maybe his wife makes a lot of money, maybe the car was a gift.
so claiming that this car is too good for a cop shows discrimination and contempt for the people who risk their lives every day to protect this city. that is biased.
lastly, how do you know this officer was not on paid detail at or very near that location? if he was the permit is valid. did you check all the local shops to see if there was a cop with 70th precinct brass standing guard?
