I guess the young daugthers of NYPD officers can use the permits as well? Two very young girls and a young boy just drove up to the no standing spot and parked and went to the movies. No thought or problem with parking at the Hydrant, I was very tempted to ask them for their NYPD ID to show that it was on official biz, but I think it was a date. Good to see that NYPD has great control over the permits and who uses them. No really they had to be 18yo. I turn around and there is patrol car 1395 looking at the permit and they roll off with out giving a ticket. Double whamy. Just another night and less respect for that Hydrant.

The NYPD only has control over who they issue the permit to. 1 to each employee. Thats all they have control over.
You should have said "Good to see that THIS ONE SPECIFIC PERMIT HOLDER has great control over HIS/HER permit and who uses it." That would have been much more accurate.
Please do not judge the entire organization on the actions of a few.

Approach and question them?...Every time i see anyone thinking of doing something this foolish i have to chime in.
Please DO NOT approach and question anyone. You do not know if this person has a knife or gun.
Do not assume because this person is displaying a parking pass that this will not make them a violent person.
BE CAREFUL PEOPLE!!!, USE COMMON SENSE!!!

neo9999, thank yuo VERY much for making that comment. Although the posters on this site are "acting" like cops in the sense that you are documenting illegaly parked vehicles, PLEASE do not forget where that line is and DO NPT CROSS IT. You have NO idea where or how that person got that permit- it may have been stolen out of a Police Officers car and that the person who is using it may be a violent person or emotionally disturbed. I, as a Police Officer, may approach, but I am trained and equipped to defend my self. Even though I disagree with a lot of the anti-NYPD posts on this site, please BE SAFE!
