An end to USPS Parking Abuse?

Day in and day out for at least a year (that's when I started noticing), USPS employees have been parking their personal vehicles in "No Standing Zones" adjacent to Planetarium Station on West 83rd St. This picture shows the scene on December 17, 2007 (the hidden plate info for this post corresponds to the red sedan in front).

Here are some prior posts from last spring--in the comments, the postal employees consistently argue that they are entitled to park illegally like this:

Now, Commissioner Kelly has announced that invalid and fake permits (such as the ones used by USPS Employees on W.83rd) will no longer be honored and there may be "further action" against those who use them:
