4 autos parked here this corner overnight without the meter reciept displayed on the dash but rather some official looking placard or patches. I spoke with a meter maid on a street near by, after overhearing her walkie talkie announce that 2 blocks were not to be patrolled. She stated that those who place a summons on vehicles with placards are routinely "punished" without any elaboration. This is arguably institutionally supported corruption.

You can park over night at meters. In Brooklyn you can park after 7 Pm at a meter without putting money in the meter. I don't know what it is in other boroughs.

K - this photo was taken at 10:11 am and I was in the area past 11 am - the autos were never moved nor were any meter fed. I do not know if overnight is free, but meter maids were issuing summons to autos not displaying valid receipts or placards and I saw one civilian's auto towed. Your comment seems a "red herring" fallacy.

So is your photo. You said they were there all night.. You didn't say you were there at 10 am.

A vehicle isn't towed simply because the meter was expired.

I didn't say the towed vehicle was due to meter expiration. I simply saw a vehicle in tow by a NYPD towtruck

And my point was that a different car being towed has absolutely nothing to do with this violation. The NYPD tows for hazardous violations, not parking meters. Apples and oranges.

The plack that was issued by the city gives permission to park at a meter... You should talk to the mayor, because their not doing anything wrong
