Honorary Police Surgeon shops SoHo with expired permit

Observed by 1000policesurgeons on Wed, Feb 13 2008

Seen just after this lady loaded shopping bags into her trunk. Her Honorary Police Surgeon permit expired December 31, nearly 1-1/2 months ago. Behind this car was an FDNY vehicle parked in the bus stop. Folks, when are you going to curb your rotten and immoral behavior? Honorary Police Surgeon permits should not even exist, especially if this City intends to collect revenue on foreign diplomats parked similarly illegally.
I quote the Senate Ethics Committee's admonishment today of Sen. Larry Craig: "an improper attempt by you to use your position and status ... to receive special and favorable treatment." How is this Honorary Police Surgeon's behavior any different?
And since you confronted me and asked why I was taking the picture, now you know why.

All NYPD restricted permits are expired. The 2008 permits have not yet been issued.

All 2007 permits are valid till further notice.

Now may I ask a few questions?
1. How do you feel knowing that the permit is still valid?
2. Isnt that bus stop sign facing the other way? In other words shes not
parked illegaly.
3. What kind of outfit do you recomend someone on official police buisness
wear?
I'll wait for the answer...

The new permits are out, it's valid to be an honorary police surgeon?

If she's not parked illegally why the permit? Seems all the cops around here aren't cops until they park illegaly, then the permit comes out.

What kind of outfit? Sexy? That's usually unacceptable in most business offices, although to be fair, I can't really tell what she's wearing.

A little sexy is OK, but I think the look here is a little rich shopping in SoHo, which might be more than it should be for business attire. Plus the shopping bags.

I'm trying to imagine an NYPD scenario where somebody dressed like that is on Official Honorary Surgeon business, with a handful of shopping bags from fancy stores.

You people really need to learn to look at pictures. She isn't parked illegally. She isn't parked in the bus stop. So where is she illegally parked? Sounds to me Civilian Benevolent Association that you are a little jealous of her.

I have elected myself honorary street judge. Cmon honorary!, only in this city do we have this type of ridiculous titles bestowed to friends, cronies and families of politically connected people.

Honorary Surgeon huh?..so what does she do? honorary heart surgery?...ridiculous and silly, and a insult to anyone with any common sense.

I just saw one of these Honorary Police Surgeon permits in the window of a Mercedes on Liberty St, just off Church St, (Lower Manhattan). It was in a No Standing Zone (from sign to the corner).
Where can I get one?
