"New Sheriff in town" parks anywhere he d___ well pleases

Observed by Buttle on Sat, May 03 2008

I couldn't find the NYC Sheriff's Department on the pulldown for "select agency," but apparently there is one. There's also a little medalion on the placard that says (near as I can make out) "DSA268." Anybody know what that indicates? Anyway, it's authorized by the NYC Deputy Sheriff's Association...

The NYC Sheriff handles mostly civil issues, like court ordered evictions, and such.

You are WRONG... That is handled by the City Marshalls who are Mayorial Appointees. The NYC SHERIFF handles people whom owe the CITY money
