This was intentional law break and perp attempted to conceal identity by placing invalid placard under the vehicle registration sticker to conceal the identifying numbers. Driver was female and came from Queens Center Mall where Macy's is located.
This created blind spot for hours adjacent to school facility and at the merge point of 2 high traffic streets (from mall traffic). It is also the location of a pedestrian injury by auto due in part to blind spots created by autos parked under the "No Parking Anytime" signs posted liberally at this location.

Humm, all this worry about car accidents and pedestrian accidents... And yet you don't mention the real violation in this picture. An 18 wheeler that is off truck route AND driving down a 1 way street the wrong way! Why are you bothering with parked cars that arn't causing a safety issue, and ignoring the truck which obviously is a problem?! Looks at the 3 pedestrians trying to get out of it's way because it can't make the illegal turn its doing! Oh, but violating a few VTL rules is ok, lets go after the cops who can't park correctly! Nice... Real nice...

Turns out there were 3 passes by 110th precinct cruiser while all this was going on - maybe you should complain to them. I document what I can. Again your fallacy machine is working overtime.

It seems hiyall has a personal interest in all this... Could it be that the ped accident somehow involved a person that he knows?... And where's the handicap van that was som prominent in all his other photos?...

Oh yeah, I used to live in that area and I had absolutely NO problems with anyone parking at that island. As long as they didn't block my driveway.

Perp?

hiyall you said there is a blind spot. Where is there a blind spot. Is the blind spot for the people who want to cross the street. They are supposed to cross at the cross walk not in the middle of the block. So there is no blind spot.

The 2 streets merge, cars and pedestrians cannot see past these skels, and guess what - the kids leave the school field and jaywalk - are you surprised?
Why do yall insist on trying to change the subject - is it because the illegal parking is indefensible?
Let's not forget that the skels are breaking the law by simply parking there. Get DOT to remove the signage and make it legal, and I will only be able to complain about the blind spot that has already contributed to an injury.

Perp and Skel are insulting words used to describe criminals and drug addicts. Please stop using them to describe city employees! Where is the MODERATOR on this?!?! How come Hiyall gets to be insulting and his comments aren't blocked or banned? The double standard is in effect again!

Hey HIYALL don't use the jargon if you don't know the meaning of the word, ya chucklehead.

LIke I stated before, I used to live in that area. The two roads that merge are very wide and where they merge is about fifteen feet from the tip of that island. Notice the stripes on the road? Where the stripe end are about fifteen feet from the tip of the island. If y'all would notice, the stripes extend waaayy beyond the vehicle's side. I would think a rational person would avoid the stripes and drive on the unmarked part of the road. I've driven down the marked road and there were NO vehicles parked in the striped part and STILL people jaywalk andalmost get hit because they DO NOT LOOK where they are going! So don't use "blind spots" as an excuse to b*tch and moan about something so minor as parking in a striped zone.

There is nothing about me that changes the illegality of the acts represented by the photos posted by me. It is as simple as that. I for one, believe that the venom that is spewed by likely law enforcement personnel at the civilians that face this crowd armed only with a camera and a cell phone, is "sour grapes" and likely designed to intimidate or otherwise dampen one's initiative at exposing this seedy morass. Clue: this will not deter me.
So if you park your auto illegally in my neighborhood and cause a safety hazard to boot - then I will report the infraction and photograph the event should I happen upon it.
I do not hear any defense of the illegal act except excuses that "we are not paid enough or we get in trouble for doing our job or when I lived there it was ok for people to break the law" which I suppose somehow in your warped reality justifies the ad hominems against those who simply document and report illegal activity.
Lame excuses, lame threats of summons against me for imagined acts, wild speculation of my motives (relevance?) or other vague irrelevant statements are just lame babble totally unrelated to whether or not the act documented is legal or not.
Fact is it is illegal and that is really all that is important in the final tally.

I'm sorry but your claims of a blind spot created by the car at that location is untrue. Look at the trees and the bushes, they create the blind spot. The trees there are way more dangerous than the car.

commandocivility - nice try but it is indeed the autos that create dangerous blind spots when viewed from the location of a driver in a car on the street. The trees actually create blind spots for flying objects such as pigeons, airplanes headed to and from LaGuardia as the foliage is higher than most of the pedestrians in the neighborhood. The autos on the other hand block vision from the ground to above the driver in an auto. Had you tried sitting in your auto along side the illegally parked cars when they are present, then you would likely agree. If you want, I can assist you with a simple vision test at the location.
AND - parking there is still illegal - what say you about that?

HIYALL's argument of a "blind spot is false.... I see what looks like a good 3-4 feet of space between the auto and the pavement. Unless these pedestrians are literally RUNNING out into traffic, this isn't a problem. Believe it or not as I've said before, pedestrians are also responsible for their actions.

Wow, tons of excuses. That truck seems to be going the right way down a one way street. The peds seem to be waiting to cross.
This guy must be a delight in court as he doesn't ssem to have his facts straight.
