A black Cadillac with City Council plates was parked illegally at an expired parking meter outside the CVS Pharmacy at 22-80 31st Street in Astoria, Queens, NY, on Wednesday, June 25th, 2008 at 5:57 pm.
How long was it there? you do realized some people just leave those things on the dash all the time, so much so they forget it's even there.
how do you know that the meter didn't just run out, or the person who is responsible for that car was not on their way out? I've seem permits get tickets, don't assume you always know what's going on just because you think you saw something.
Well, let's just say that I was able to spend about 20 minutes inside CVS, plus another 10 minutes at the Starbucks at the corner, plus another 10 minutes walking around the corner to a bakery and to a stationary store, plus a few minutes to cross the street and walk back, and the car was still there, still with 0:00 left on the meter, and still with no ticket (in an area that is usually swarming with meter maids). That all adds up to around 40-50 minutes, so when I got back, it was still within the 6:00-7:00 hour when the meter should have had time on it.

Peter Vallone's council office and law office at that location. He doesn't have to feed the meter, he's special.
