I guess this guy doesn't like bus riders

Pretty common site. This driver has moved from parking in front of hydrants and in no parking zones, to parking in the bus stop across the street. This fraudster has now affixed several pins to his fake federal law enforcement placard -- how cute.

The geniuses at 311 marked down my complaint as an "illegal bus layover". Of course, the 9th precinct said they didn't find anything in violation, without even bothering to leave the precinct house.

Nobody is leaving the precinct to check on your 311 complaint. The call will be assigned by the Telephone Switchboard Operator at the local precinct to a radio car as soon as possible taking into account staffing levels and police emergencies. The same person is doing alot of things inside the station house including answering phones that never stop ringing, assisting persons that walk in, returning property to released prisioners, monitoring the dept computer and communication systems, and assisting the desk officer with absolutely whatever he/she needs. Every complaint that the police dept recieves (whether from 311 or 911) gets prioritized. 311 calls will most likely always be at the bottom of the list.

thanks for the info 96. My question though, is this- Why then does the NYPD close 311 tickets with a resolution status along the lines of "we stopped by, but didn't see anything in violation" or "we stopped by and took action", when in many cases, I KNOW that nobody even stopped by to look (I know, I've waited, and then noted the time when the ticket was closed)? What's the point of that? Why not just say "we were too busy to check it out"? At least that'd be honest, and would actually be more useful to citizens, NYPD and policy makers.

They mark the job 90X, 90Y, or 91 because there is no "we didn't bother to go out to this chronic complaint" finalization.

I didn't mean for that to sound sarcastic, but seriously, there are only a few set "finalizations" that you can pick from. Sometimes, none of them really apply to what you actually did, and sometimes multiple ones apply, you just kinda pick the closest one. For instance, the code "we stopped by and took action" is probably code 91, which can mean anything from "Noncrime Corrected" to "Warn and Admonish" to "Situation Resolved Satisfactory to all parties involved"... The finalization system isn't an "exact science". Oh, and also, there is no "we were too busy to go", the NYPD has to "go" to everything...

But you can't enforce the laws on the 59 bridge bike lane. There is a lone cop that is posted at rush hour and only because the bridge painters are paying.

$4 bil budget and you can't enforce even the simplest of laws. I understand there have been some civilian complaints to CCRB because the rules are being enforced. I've handled some pretty hairy accidents on the bridge because the cops "don't go to everything.

BTW, I understand Homeland Stupidity was notified on this and you can see they either don't think a phony fed pass is important, or they move even slower than DOT and will get to it sometime in the next century....
