NYPD Transit Getting Some Retail Therapy

Observed by BicyclesOnly on Sat, Mar 10 2007

What could NYPD Transit-Brooklyn be doing parked on Saturday morning at the plaza? Maybe getting a little retail therapy in at Bergdorfs or F.A.O.? This guy was parked in a spot in which only commercial vehicles were permitted to stand, and then nly if they paid the muni-meter rate. There was no muni-meter receipt on the dash. I guess he can put the savings toward his purchases.

I beleive that the CMZ is Mon thru Fri.
There is a Transit base at 59th and 8th.
The cop may be in the Subway on a detail which is common. If he could afford Bergdoffs I would applaude him for saving enough money to shop there becuase 59k doesn't go that far. You are quick to assume but remember you don't KNOW.

I checked the sign, there's no standing here on saturday when I took this shot. 59th and 5th is a long way from 59th and 8th. If I tried to gather ironclad evidence of every abuse I would never get anywhere except in the hospital judging from some of the love letters I'm getting on this site. You seem to assume that the posts on this site have to show abuse "beyond a reasonable doubt."

They might be working a detail in the area.

How about this. While your getting your butt kicked in, the cops will take a little longer to help you out because they had to find parking. All of you guys are losers. Find something else to do with your time. If free parking is a perk of the working as a Police Officers so be it. If you don't like, then join up and take up a foot patrol in negative 20 drgree weather, getting shot at, beaten up, and being Monday Morning quarterbacked for a split second life or death decision.

I have not had my butt kicked or had the police save me from having it done to me. In fact, after seeing the attitude of the posters on here claiming to be police officers, I am now more worried about violence from them than I am from criminals. Way to "serve and protect". More like "insult and threaten".
