There can be no pretense that this guy is responding to an emergency or that he needs to park here to perform official business. He should be towed immediately.

Does local law enforcement have jurisdiction over a federal vehicle? This guy just might be able to park on the steps of City Hall and get away with it.
#8 Interesting. So Federal vehicles can park on sidewalks? Where is this documented?
If true, I think it's something worth looking into.

Gee did anyone ever think the car is disabled and placed there to keep it out of the street. You are all so quick to observe the obvious, but not smart enough to know what is going on. Experts at nothing...:)

long time resident of the area...Yep,the army recruiters park on the traffic island all the time. When they leave, they have to back their cars into the very busy intersection of tremont avenue and westchester avenue...not very safe.

They do that all over the city. What a nice fancy car to trick stupid kids into going to Iraq to die. And park on the sidewalk. And not get tickets

I read all the comments regarding the above vehicle. I could see majority of the opinions are wriiten against the parked vehicle.
I'm an Administrative Law Judge at the Parking Violation Bureau(PVB). I'm suppose to interprete the NYC parking violation laws fairly and acurately.
This is my opinion:
The official Plates of the US Gov't espicially plate numbers with G10 don't have parking permits unless special circumstance exists.
Now the question comes, does this vehicle is in the category of the exception?
I cannot answer that, however I do see that the parking permit is NOT on the dashboard. Therefore the vehicle is in fault.
In addition, comment #14 is worthwhile answering it.
if the vehicle is for the army recruiter or any military personel or a veteran of Iraq or Korea, don't we have an "equal protection clause" in the 14th Amendment in U.S Constitution?
Don't we have "Due process Clause" in 5th Amendment?
Take a look at US Supreme Court front door, it reminds us "EQUAL JUSTICE TO ALL"
we must have fundamental fairness to all. Either a garbage pick up guy or pentagon worker, they all MUST enjoy the same right.
COME ON, STOP... HOLD THE PHONES... THEY HAVE BEEN DOING THAT FOR YEARS, AT LEAST 10 YRS.... THEY WON'T STOP... THEY PULL OFF THE TICKET AND LAUGH AT IT WHILE THEY RIP IT UP.... TOW THE HUNK OF JUNK...!

Did anyone wonder whether this offender reported the damaged hood or the nature of the damage to the United States Army on an official trip log?

FUI
The military take very serious any violation, however, government federal plate like the one above has the jurisdiction to park there.
