The Bronx fireman who parked his Cadillac SUV in front of a hydrant - and then scrawled a note begging traffic agents not to ticket him - was fined $1,000 by the city's Conflict of Interest Board Monday.
Firefighter Christopher Santana, whose license plate is BRAVEST1, was photographed parking his black SUV on Van Cortlandt Park South at the corner of Gale Place in Kingsbridge last May 11.
Santana, 34, left a handwritten note on the dashboard alongside a fire union parking placard that has no legal power to exempt firefighters from parking laws.
"I'm really a fireman," the note read. "I work in Engine 46."
"Thank you for your courtesy," the note concluded.
The four-year FDNY veteran later admitted he tried to use his position as a fireman to avoid the ticket when exposed by the Daily News. Santana did not return calls for comment.
