They are not going to ticket their own.

Dragon is correct. As soon as I see the placard I would not even bother unholstering my scan machine. It's a free pass for this motorist. Besides, he is not even completely blocking the pump. A hose can still be attached if need be. Anyone else would receive a summons but not a fellow worker. Courtesy would be swiftly handed out in a case like this.

Bronx, call as many people a you like but you just might be wasting your breath. I can count how many exposes have been conducted by the media and nothing has changed. The fact of the matter is that the extension of professional courtesy is not illegal and there is nothing the media can do to change this. Of course this will not stop the media from shaming a traffic agent into changing his view on professional courtesy. Bronx, I love your optimism. There is nothing wrong with keeping hope alive.

they will never fix this "problem" because there is no problem it is professional courtesy and there's nothing wrong with that it's the same thing when a cop gets pulled over for speeding and flashes his or her badge they will never get a ticket and that's that

It isn't a problem - it is illegal and dangerous.

It is neither professional nor courteous. It is an illegal conspiracy to allow protected groups avert the law.

Hiyall, what you need to do is accept that professional courtesy is a tool that every law enfoement agent uses when encountering a fellow worker. It is not illegal nor is it an illegal conspiracy and above all it is not dangerous. This is reality and thats how the cookie crumbles for those who are not part of the inner circle. The car would never be summonsed or towed. It just would never happen.
Not illegal- free pass and ignore.
Move on to next car and give the city worker a break.
