Yet again - overnight parking at Fire Hydrant by 114th with cooperation by 110th

Yet again - overnight parking at Fire Hydrant by 114th. This is a location frequently passed by both 110th cruisers and NYPD parking patrols.

Obviously NYPD is approving of parking at fire hydrants next to shopping malls and residential high rises by their lack of action.

Way to go NYPD!

Especially on nights like these where there is inclement weather I like to grant a free pass to my fellow city workers via the much hated "professional courtesy". Surely you do not expect him/her to worry about finding parking when there is about half a foot of snow on the ground.
Although this is not the best of spots the motorist did leave enough room for a hose to be attached to the hydrant. Kudos to him/her and therefore he/she need not worry about a summons from a fellow law enforcer such as myself.

It is illegal and dangerous.

Fuss: i have to disagree with you one this one. The veh is parked too close to the pump. The hose needs to stick straight out from the hydrant and the bumper is clearly in the way. Its unfortunate but its only the facts. I would have been ok with this veh parked in a bus stop on a bad day like this.

tag, tow - then report the co-conspirator.

The city worker works hard to provide a service for the populace of this ungreatful city. I would rather summons a proud owner of a Honda Fit or Toyota Prius than hurt the likes of a fellow city worker.
Not illegal- free pass and ignore.
Move on to next car and give the city worker a break.
