This supposed 19th precinct employee is using his/her expired restricted placard to park illegally. Nice trick covering the placard with their SBA card.
Strange how my past post was not even posted but I shall try again. This is the Self Enforcement Zone of the Traffic Division command located between 7th and 6th avenues. This vehicle has a NYPD issued placard that although supposedly expired is still good for upto 3 years after expiration. Courtesy would always be granted to the motorist even though a SBA card is displayed on the parking permit. Although you might deem this placard invalid it is not to a fellow law enforcement agent. Once again, this is all a moot point anyway especially since this is a self enforcement zone for the local traffic division.
It is in fact invalid. Placards are not supposed to be covered.
And, I'd love it if somebody could point out to me where self-enforcement zones are documented in writing. I have yet to hear why people think they are legal.
