Oh yes the world is coming to an end just because this city worker did not put a muni-meter receipt on his dash. Surely he deserverse the death penalty. I see that Lawandorder does not even mention the illegaly chained up bicycle on the city post which is far more dangerous to the public then a missing muni-meter receipt. It is defacing public property and should be clipped and confiscated. None the less, I only have one thing to say about this city worker's supposed violation?

Not illegal- free pass and ignore.
Move on to next car and give the city worker a break.

Fuss, this site is not about bicycle parking. If you want to start one, go right ahead. please understand though that this bike is not illegally parked.

And yes, this car IS illegally parked, especially since the placard is bogus.

Please also read the documentation posted on this site as to the consequences of illegal (and thus free) motor vehicle parking. you might learn a thing or two.

Unfortunately for you this site, it does not have any influence as to what happens out in the streets. Professional courtesy is administered on an infraction based car per car basis. The majority of the traffic agents I work with feel the same way especially when there is nothing illegal to our actions. Perhaps you might try to join the traffic agent division in order to change things from within. I will wish you much luck in your attempt. The fact of the matter is that what is posted on this site as factual documentation only works in a perfect world. Why would the NYPD want to even listen to your advice on eliminating professional courtesy when in the eyes of their law enforcement department they are doing nothing wrong? As per the bicycle, yes it is illegally parked because it is illegal to deface or attach foreign bodies to a government fixture. In this case the bike is illegally chained up to the pole. What happens many times is that the bike slides down and pokes out into the street thus causing a dangerous condition. Most often than not the bike wheel is purposely run over and the bike owner becomes infuriated. Thus is life and you live and learn.

Not illegal- free pass and ignore.
Move on to next car and give the city worker a break.

This person's veh is not blocking a hydrant or traffic, and they are out there keeping the streets safe and putting their lives on the line for me. The veh is parked just fine.

Fuss - again, this bike is not illegally parked. You are referring to a law that the NYPD likes to interpret as being applicable to bikes.

Sorry, but "professional courtesy" is complete garbage.
