The sign says no standing anytime. You say the placard is unrestricted. If it says unrestricted I guess they can park there. They will not get a ticket.
dragon -- if you'll read http://nyc.uncivilservants.org/how_can_i_tell (which you still obviously haven't), you'll see that NYPD Unrestricted placards do not allow drivers to park in No Standing Anytime zones.
You can say what you want about unrestricted, restricted placards. The bottom line is they will NOT get a ticket. It is called PROFESSIONAL COURTESY. Regardless if you like it or not.
your "professional courtesy" is a criminal enterprise with protected groups, interstate participants, extortion under official right, conspiracy and RICO.
RICO? Wow, please please explaint to me how professional courtesy falls under RICO. Please excuse me if my laughter interrupts your explaination.
As for the rest of your statement, I can attest to that which Dragon says. I will not ticket any placard belonging to the NYPD...PERIOD.
I always extend fellow law enfocement entities a much desereved free pass via the old tried and true "professioanl courtesy". It is not corrupt by any stretch of the imagination and if you have an ax to grind over this then take it up with the Mayor but do not be surprised if you or his fellow law makers refuse to entertain your unrealistic requests.
The printing on the placards are there only to appease those constant complainers. In the end it is upto the individual law enforcement agent to adhere to these terms or not. Unless the Mayor is out there writing the actual summonses I highly doubt that any of these placarded cars will ever get a summons. Such is the nature of the beast. Get used to it.
Nah, you can do the legal research - doubt you will agree in public as you are not really listening.
I stand by my post.
In addition, in many precincts, cops just like this one have been interviewed by one of their superiors regarding an illegal incident that is difficult to continue to lie about when shown the photos.
Is it enough? Perhaps if it gets the driver's attention such that the illegal, dangerous behavior stops and if no one was actually injured yet with this specific incident. Frankly, a car parked where I am actively recording and reporting all offenders (civilian and/or city employee), is just as dangerous as one without a ticket.
So don't give a ticket to your crooked brethren who selfishly park their autos in illegal places or not - your choice. If it looks dangerous, selfish and stupid to me, I will record and photo it and any evidence that the act is overlooked because it may belong to a protected group.
Hiyall, who are you kidding? Your little pictures and letters only get you what we in the law enforcement industry call the "stroke job". I dont know how many times whiny civilians come into our transit hub complaining about summonses only to be promised that it would be taken care of. Unfortnately for them as soon as they walk out the door they feel the sting of the summons when it is mailed to them weeks later. It is the illusion of getting something done when in fact nothing changes, thus the existance of the much hated self enforcement areas that some of you love to brag about that they will be eliminated. Funny how nothing of the sort has transpired. If it makes you happy to believe that something is really happening to the placard owners then so be it but in reality if something were really happening to them then no one would park in this supposed illegal manner. Word of mouth alone would cpnvince aplacard owner to park in a preferred manner. Alas by the manny postingdson this web site it seems that the the illusion is working. Take as many pictures as you want, nothing will happened except yourself getting "stroked". Enjoy the show of illusions hiyall. Thanks heavens it is a free show.

Actually, I am not aware of any valid placard exception to a No Standing Anytime zone.
Is there any legal "illegal" parking in a No Standing Anytime zone? The chart at the "How can I tell?" link does not list one.

your "professional courtesy" is a criminal enterprise with protected groups, interstate participants, extortion under official right, conspiracy and RICO.
It is not professional, courteous or lawful.
And ... the car is illegally parked.
