They could be the most unpopular award winners in NYPD history.
The chief of the Police Department's Internal Affairs Bureau nominated his own division for a unit award at this summer's Medal Day, sources said.
IAB Chief Charles Campisi particularly sang the praises of his much-hated traffic unit - charged with ticketing and towing cops' illegally parked personal cars, sources said.
"The feeling at the top is that it is a horrible, thankless job," one source said.
Rank-and-file officers were horrified the traffic unit might get the annual award for "outstanding contributions" that "reflect credit" upon the department and are "in keeping with the highest tradition of police service."

Wow wow all I can say is wow so city hall needs to cut plaques down by 20% and they send the rat squad gotta love it this is why nypd cops hate thier jobs they risk their lives every day and they get their car towed in return seriously it bothers I.A.B. and city hall that much that cops have parking plaques that they use in the city wow that's incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it's real tough when cops have to obey the law. Yeesh, what is this world coming to!
