LOL - seriously! I also enjoy when I have to yell at the bus driver of the B61 to make the stop between State and Schemerhorn on Smith - I haven't seen that stop not parked up with cars since construction began on The Smith two years ago.

Also - looks like this guy has raked up $680 in tickets - why hasn't it been towed yet? Hmmm....
#4--maybe his placard has something to do with it? He must have just forgotten it a few times, and was so used to parking wherever he pleased he couldn't bring himself to actually look for a parking space.
Regarding #3, I've just started posting a huge backlog of pictures, that's why I'm all over page 1. I have well over 100 incidents left to post that will be coming up on the site in the next few weeks.

j on state-better take it slow or you'll crash the server
Never block a crosswalk, bus stop, or hydrant... I have no sympathy for this officer.
That being said, I still have a problem publishing the plates of these private vehicles. It is not needed to ID the vehicles to the Agencies in question, and you can be sure IAB is looking at this site on a daily basis. All that is needed is the permit number for the agency to ID and discipline the individuals in question.
All that posting plates is going to do is ID officer's to the public... and not all of the public is law abiding and just looking to correct traffic and parking conditions. Some are looking to do officers harm.
FYI, I've seen PO's personal cars towed from self enforcement zones for unpaid parking fines (twice in the last 4 years). NYC Sheriff doesn't show much discretion. I suspect this officer didn't display a 2007 permit, as plates are run for outstanding fines before a permit will be issued for the current year. Fines must be paid and up to date before the permit will be issued.
Is it me or are the reverse lights on? WAIT is someone actually in the car??? oh My God!!! is he parking? or is he just about to run you over for publishing his plates on the internet? if that was my car... you'd be able to tell me if I have a oil leak....

why dont you people show some respect and get a fucking life!
Yes, the cops do need to show some respect for the neighborhod they work in.
As for getting a life, perhaps if they read a book while commuting to work on mass transit, their lives would be more fulfilled.

oiseau, your comment is laughable. Telling someone to read a book or something so thier life would be more fulfilled, but you run around taking pics of parked cars. Talk about a lack of fulfillment. I think i'll pass on listening to what you have to say.
Hi again oiseau, mass transit is for 9-5 ers thats not what we do. maybe if you check the neighborhood first before you move in you would know your amck in the middle of a huge law enforcment area.... what did you expect to find in that area??? puchcarts selling flowers and anti death penalty buttons? move back to whatever hick town you originated from...
Fulfillment is found in different ways. SOme like to read books (and are able to do so), some liek to run aroound taking pictures of parked cars (I have yet to do this), some like to think that they can park wherever they like because they are above the law.
To each his own.

And some like to protect and serve the people in this city. And what do they get in return? People who have WAY TOO MUCH time on thier hands snapping pics and posting them on a web site. (or better yet admitting that they don't take the pics, just make stupid comments). But worse yet, the people who go out day after day and do a thankless job, still get up in the morning and do it all over again, despite the silly comments made and the beliefs held by guys like oiseau.
That's right, and I get up everyday and go to work despite the rude and disrespectful attitude of the NYPD.
Oh, and give me a break about it being a thankless job. You ghet to retire after 20 years with a full pension, ebnough already. That is plenty of thanks.
Read all the books you want, you'll still be clueless...
take all the pictures you want, we'll still park wherever we can, to protect you.
we are not above the law, but we do get perks... would you complain about bill gates getting discounts on computers or the conveince store owner who brings home a gallon of milk without paying full price??? Yeah you would...
Aren’t all of these pictures that you have posted either adjacent to, or across the street from, the Brooklyn Criminal Court? Isn’t this where theses vehicles are supposed to park? Do you believe that these vehicles should not be parked outside the criminal court? Where should police vans transporting prisoners park? Should they look for parking ten blocks away from the criminal court, and escort shackled prisoners through “your precious” neighborhood? What kind of complaints would that generate to 311?
It is not lost on some of us that the Department of Education at 110 Livingston has been sold to private developers. Do you think there’re spending all that money on renovating it to make affordable housing for the types of blue collar people who work in this area? Do workers have any rights in your eyes? Or is it only the landed gentry such as j_on_state?
Here’s an idea for all you rich up and coming types who are clearly spearheading this drive against the civil SERVANTS, who do your business, why don’t you do like the developers who have purchased 110 Livingston from the city have done, and use your money to purchase all of the city-owned buildings in the area, and move out the government agencies all together (where they would go is anyone’s guess), that way everyone by the “former” criminal court could chase out the “down-trodden”, and make this area “more acceptable” to the new development model.
You people move into municipal civic centers that have been where they are for decades, and then you complain that there are a lot of municipal vehicles around? Does that make any sense?
Did you people consider that before your forced the previous residents (who didn’t complain) out, to buy or rent all of these lovely brownstones you so recently have discovered?
Its like moving next to the sanitation land fill, and then complaining about the smell and high volume of city owned garbage trucks, or moving next to a nuclear power plant, and then joining a protest to ban the very reactors that were there before you even moved in. Or, you could just not move near the “nuisance”. But no, you have to be close to work, so you could easily take your mass transit the 10 to 15 minutes that it takes you to commute from downtown Brooklyn to Manhattan.
I wonder what kind of complaining is going to happen when the Department of Corrections re-opens the Brooklyn House of detention. The complaints to 311 will be “there are some many criminals over here. Its not safe for me and little Jimmy”, “why are all these people standing on Atlantic avenue making noise? Oh, there waiting to see criminals, we have to put a stop to that! Call the Mayor.
Here is another sign of cops arrogance: "mass transit is for 9 - 5 ers" No, you most likely work three shift 12 - 8am, 8am - 4pm and 4p - midnight. There is not one shift that you can not take mass transit to work. Why should I have to check a neighborhood to see if there are rude, disrespectful arrogant morons working in a police station nearby before I move into it?
I was born and raised in NYC idiot, so why don't you move to downsouth where your gun-toting flag flying redneck brethren awaits you!
Bklyncop you make no sense. Your rational is that of a schoolyard bully.
You don't protect me, I protect myself - from the likes of criminals and cops alike.
As for the store owner and Bill Gates, no I don't get mad because those things are their property! Sidewalks, crosswalks, etc. are not the police's property. You are sworn to uphold the law! What? You're so pathetic you can't do your own job?
Oh and yeah. you get perks? Like retiring after 20 years with full benefits paid for by me and others who you insult and abuse with your disrespect.

Mike,
I used to live in this neighborhood.
I lived on the 3rd floor of a walk-up.
I am not rich. Just another guy trying to make a buck and live life.
Cops and court personnel and the traffic congestion they contributed to with all of their illegal parking make life a living hell all around Downtown Brooklyn.
The sick thing is that every subway in the city and every bus line in Brooklyn runs through this neighborhood. At least half of these illegal parkers could be taking transit into Downtown Brooklyn.
I actually had to move thanks, in part, to you guys.
So save the gentrification shtick for another time. You're hurting regular New Yorkers with your illegal parking and your unnecessary driving. You're breaking the law. It's got nothing to do with luxury condos. So quit trying to change the topic.

There was an article years ago about J in one of the papers bitching and moaning how the NYSJ spots in front of her brownstone were taking up precious space that could be used by her personal vehicle and others on her block on State Street.
Now that the parking regs changed, she wants it all. Apparently when J moved into the area (in the mid 80's) the area was a depressed sh--hole. Drugs, homeless, abandoned buildings, etc. You couldnt give these crumbling buildings away. I am sure she appreciated the LE presence during those years but now, the court buildings have become an eyesore to her.
Her happy day is when the eyesore that is 120 Schermerhorn is closed and the Criminal court building moves to E. NY or Canarsie.
