Observed by citizen79 on Thu, Mar 22 2007

PARKING IN A BUS ZONE, PEOPLE HAVE TO GET OUT OF THE BUS AWAY FROM THE CURB IN THE RAIN. THIS BUS STOP IS FOR ARTICULATED BUSES AND EXTENDS BEYOND THE BUS ZONE SIGN.

Ok, is this poster a complete a petty turnip or what?
The car, which there is no proof it belongs to a cop, is clearly only about 6 inches into the bus stop. How trivial has this site become that they have to resort to publishing this crap.

To the poster can I advise that you get a much needed hobby. Perhaps try dating .

in this pic i think the garbage piled at the curb is more of a hindrance to the bus riders

#1, the poster has noted a permit number, so the car apparently has an NYPD permit, which the poster also flags as a "fake" permit. I agree the car is not so very far into the bus stop, this officer made an attempt to keep it clear. I would expect the piled in the bus stop is a more serious hazard to bus patrons.

Come on guys....this is very petty. The car is hardly in the bus stop at all.

Petty, petty, petty.

What is sadder is that the poster probably loses sleep night after night over some guy being parked 6 inches into the bus stop.

Some sort of life is sorely needed by this poster.

This might have been petty but if a regular civilian were to park there with out a permit from the NYPD, they would have been easily ticketed.

That bus stop extends way past the sign in the pic in order to accommodate the articulated buses that are on 79th Street.

unless there is another bus stop sign at the end of the block, the bus stop ends at that pole.....
if the curb is painted yellow beyond the pole, legally it means NOTHING.....

again, seems VERY petty, but what can you expect from these people....

It's an NYPD restricted permit. Can't park in a no standing zone, unless I'm seriously mistaken. FYI:

(3) No Standing - Bus Stop. No person shall stand or park a vehicle other than an authorized bus in its assigned bus stop when any such stop has been officially designated and appropriately posted except that the operator of a vehicle may temporarily stand therein for the purpose of expeditiously receiving and discharging passengers provided such standing does not interfere with any bus about to enter or leave such zone.

(NYC Parking Rules Section 4-08(c)(3))

This bus stop is a favorite for off duty cops to park while they have a drink at Blondie's on 79th. I doubt if there is any official business going on after 11pm in a bar.

This car is parked in the middle of the bus stop. There is about 40 feet behind and 60 feet in front of the car that is the bus stop.
