88 Precinct parks in park slope for a movie

Observed by Peter on Sun, Jun 28 2009

Big SUV parked in no standing zone, to close to hydrant. The permit in the window did not match the lic.plate on the SUV. This spot is a favorite spot for NYPD to park and see the movies at the place around the corner. Once again there where open legal spots to park on the block, but hey they would get a ticket, right? Also, what is with the overly tinted windows that seem very popular with the NYPD officers that break the rules?

Did you see him/her park? If not then how do you know there were open spots when they got there? You are just assuming there were open spots. If there was open spots which I doubt then they parked where you can't and left the spots for people like you.

i believe the point is the suv parked too close to the fire hydrant whether it has permit or not. i guess you sure will get ticket or worse towed if your car has no permit of any kind (real or fake.)

Yes, I did see them park and there where open spots in the middle and other end of the block. I think he just did not want to walk to far, maybe his movie was about to start. Dragonman, he or any of the other NYPD off duty cars can't park there same as people like me. I rather they find a legal spot and keep the hydrant open and not block the buses that turn that corner.Oh, and FUSS and Dragon please do not comment back with that there is space to still get to the Hydrant, that logic is getting old. Law broken, plain and simple, by someone in a dept. that I respect and give thanks, but the double standard is getting old. If NYPD and FDNY officers want the respect they deserve, they have to set a example, even on this issue.

Enough room for the hose hook up if needed by FDNY. Free pass in my book.
