Parking where ever in Queens

Observed by bubba on Sun, Jul 05 2009

This SUV routinely parks in this spot, even though parking is very available in the area. The restriction is aimed at improving visibility for the intersection, in which kids often play. This morning there is a legal spot less than 20 feet away, but I guess Brooklyn North is above the law!

Did you see him/her park there? If you didn't how do you know there was a spot less than 20 feet from him/her?

i guess your only hope is to report this to your community board or precint. i highly doubt you can do anything as i understand cops work at different precint from time to time so the placard is in effect whether parking is permitted/legal/safe or not.

Dragon, as it happens I was out walking the dog the night before, and did see her park there--that is what attracted my attention. No matter, it's a SEZ permit.

Dick Tracy, where do you get this ridiculous notion? Unless the Mayor himself is walking around with a summons book this fellow law enforcement agent/officer will and always shall get a free pass. WE DO NOT SUMMONS OUR OWN....PERIOD! It is called discretion.
You say "This is illegal placard parking" and I say it is ok especially if it's a brother parking in this area. If only you had a parking placard as well then you too could revel in its privileges but alas you are but a mere spectator looking in and always lamenting ot nbeing part of this great thing of ours.

I agree with Dick and disagree with Fuss. For those with disability parking permit, for instance, cannot park in "No Standing" even with a permit. It's written on the back of the placard.

Well, maybe NYPD is exempt from the rule.

We exempt ourselves and for the record, the handicapped folk are not in our inner circle and they can only park at NO PARKING areas. Anywhere else and they are free game.
