A Truck Loading Zone NOT

Observed by Dick Tracy on Tue, Jul 28 2009

Behold the North side of East 66th Street between Second and Third Avenues. The signage designates a NO STANDING 7 AM- 7PM TRUCK LOADING AND UNLOADING ZONE. When in actuality it is placard abuse heaven. Bogus placards of all sorts are used and abused on this cesspool of a block. The very same block described here:

Dick Tracy, when will you ever comprehend that this is well within the self enforcement area of the 19th precinct. Only they can dictate which traffic regulations to enforce within their little private strip of Shangri-La. This is as it should be and anyone devoid of owning a much sought after parking permit will most definitely be summonsed on a a regular basis and with good cause.
TEA and NYPD will not summons their own so get used to this notion.

What "bogus" placards are there on this block? I only have seen press and NYPD 19 pct placards both of which make sense because FOX 5 is a block away and the precinct is a block away.

Cry all you want, this is a SELF ENFORCEMENT AREA and no one outside of the NYPD will dictate who parks here. TEA agents would never dream of summonsing anyone within these area, not that I would. We just do not summons our fellow law enforcement agents. Keep in mind that the parking witnessed in this photo is perfectly legal anyway. Once more, we have an individual preaching to the NYPD about what is a fake placard when in fact to the NYPD all these placards are legit. I wonder who is correct in this matter. I'll tell you what, my money is with the folks at the 19th precinct. At least they know what they are talking about.
