Lawandorder, in your haste to post this dribble you failed to notice that there is a NYS Probation office down the block and that this strip of NO PARKING is usually used by their members as their own SELF ENFORCEMENT AREA. Correct me if I am wrong but NYS probation and the NYPD work hand in hand on many cases. Secondly there appears to be a school across the street and if on the off chance that this is not a police officer it is then a school safety agent parking in his designated SELF ENFORCEMENT AREA. Law, it boggles the mind how off point your posts are getting. It is a sure sign of desperation. Please sit back and allow me to educate you. I, as a TEA agent, can park within a fellow law enforcement agent's SELF ENFORCEMENT AREA because we give courtesy to each other on a constant basis. So in a city with a multitude of TEA facilities, schools, Probation/parole offices, precincts etc etc, I can virtually find free parking anywhere and throw my placard on the dash without a care in the world to bother me as I go shopping or go to the movies on my day off. This is the nature of the beast so get used to it.
yeah i saw that the other day. while everyone was busy looking for parking near the theater, this guy just pulled up to the no parking anytime sign and parked his car using his placard. then he went into the theater with his girlfriend/wife/mistress. having a placard is like winning the lottery. even better if you know someone in law enforcement and just borrow it to make color copy as long as the license plate number is not written anywhere. it's so easy to do!
Wrong, you cant photo copy these new placards. I have tried and I had to break my girlfriends heart. The seal on the placards is not photo copiable. She will just have to do with me lending her my placard when she wants to go shopping.

What is the violation? They have a legal placard. They can park there.
