This cop's car has been here for weeks. Parked on the side walk and facing the wrong way on a one way street. Talking to the DOT brought a "call the precinct".
Spin Man,
Can you post the photo again with the license plate visible in "Photo 2" upload section? That won't appear publicly, but if we want to follow up, it's quite important that we have the license plate.

"Call the Precinct" shows the DOT thinks its a joke. That's their job.
If that was a civilian car, it would be up for auction already.

Is that a parking lot I see next to it on the right?

What I'd like to know is, except for the one-day when they were towing cars illegally parked in downtown Manhattan by the courthouse, the one-area which they seem to be targeted, has anything happened in teh 2 weeks or so that this website has been up? Has there been a noticable improvement in areas? Have there been more tickets and more cars towed?
#4, this site isn't meant to have an immediate effect. TA is using the site to build a case for enforcement.

I said this before, and I will say it again, the responsibilty for all of this nonsense is ultimately with the mayor. I also said previously is that although the buck stops at the mayor's desk, unfortunately he is hiding under it.

Re: #8: Exactly. Don't know if he's hiding underneath the desk, but it's clear that only the mayor (and maybe the police commissioner, and that's not going to happen) could change this. And pressure like this is the only way to move him.
A friend of mine who worked at the NYPD one time said: "Cops would drive to the bathroom if they could." They love their cars and vans, but that's no excuse for them and others to park at hydrants or otherwise park illegally.
Now, if i could just install a bathroom in my car... hmmmm ;)

To #7, my comments stand. DOT doesn't have a problem writing me, why shouldn't they do their job and go see what's the problem?
If it needs to be handled by the pct once they determine the circumstances, then it's the pcts job. It looks like they are shirking.
It's their job to write, so write.

#12 That is not true all different agencies can actually right parking tickets. DOT, Sanitation, FDNY just to name a few. You would be surprised how many people can write summonses in this city.
