The East 68th Street Free Fox 5 Employee Parking Lot and you Don't Even Need a Valid Placard
east 68th Street bet 2nd and 3rd Ave, Manhattan. Observed by Dick Tracy on Mon, Mar 12 2007
Here we have another employee of FOX 5 abusing his "EXPIRED" press placard. He is around the corner from FOX and not at the location of a news assignment he is actively covering.
FOX 5 is a horrible neighbor and abuses the residents of the community on a daily basis,
Representatives from FOX 5 told the transportation committee of community board 8 a week ago that they would get this under control and agred such parking was not permitted based on the rules stated on the press placards.
The fact is that the only way to deal with this is to pull the rug out from under them and return the street and any abused restricted parking street to the community as normal street parking.
The signage in manhattan is meaningless. If the sign indicates NO PARKING EXPEPT TRUCKS LOADING AND UNLOADING the NYPD parks there as they do at parking meters without dropping as much as a dime. If the signs indicate NO PARKING, The NYP, MD's, DDs and other placard holders park there.
So exactly what is restricted parking other than free reserved street parking for the politically connected and morally corrupt, and all at resident inconvenience and expense.
Mayor Bloomberg when do you do the right thing for the residents of the community? Perhaps you and the police commissioner need some private councilling on the concept of right and wrong and a little tutoring on ethics!
Community board 8 please act on the recent resident request to return this street to normal street parking and do the same in all abused restricted parking areas.
Commuters are supposed to be encouraged to use mass transit, Why would they do so if the city is providing them with free reserved street parking right where they work?
FREE PARKING: Has Nothing to do with Freedom of the Press
East 67 between Second and Third Avenue, Manhattan. Observed by Dick Tracy on Mon, Mar 12 2007
Witness here a Fox 5 employee, parking his personal transportation vehicle, not a news gathering vehicle in a NO PARKING 7AM-7PM EXCEPT SUNDAY area on a Monday, right in front of the FOX studios, He is not engaged in actively covering a news story at the scene of said story and beyond that parking all day not the 3 hours,
This is an everyday event and enforcement just walks on by. Put a placard on your dash, and you are immune, the hell with what the placard allows,
Press placards are used by FOX 5 employees as free parking placards for their daily commute into the city,

Hokey placard expired for over two years on apparently such a teeney weeney vehicle enforcement couldn't see it without the help of an electron microscope.
The sign indicates NO PARKING 7AM-7PM EXCEPT SUNDAY, It was Saturday. This miniscule "stealth" vehicle parks regularly on the block and apparently enforcement doesn't know what year it is.
Latte Lucy: The Housecall Dentist from NJ
east 68th Street bet Second and Third Ave, Manhattan. Observed by Dick Tracy on Fri, Oct 13 2006
Behold, latte Lucy, the dentist from NJ not ouside of a medical office and not on a housecall parking more than three hours in a NO PARKING 7AM - 7PM EXCEPT SUNDAY zone. It was Friday.
She pulls up with her ten gallon latte and her dashboard with fraudulent permits that does not apply where she is parked as well as how long she is parked and gets away with it time after time.
She is hardly parked just outside a medical office on emergency call, Must be an epidemic as she is there regularly.

Shame, Shame, Shame; Shame on You Arnold Diaz!
East 68th Street bet Second and Third Ave, Manhattan. Observed by Dick Tracy on Fri, Oct 06 2006
Fox 5 shame on you reporter Arnold Diaz parked in a NO PARKING 7AM - 7 PM Except Sunday zone for more than 3 hours, in close proximety to Fox 5 studios; Not actually engaged in covering a news story at the location of assignment and not in the designated NYP three hour parking zone provided by the DOT across the street.
Arnold frequenty shames himself by either parking on East 67th Street or East 68th Street in NO PARKING areas, for more than three hours. Perhaps he can do a story about his own disregard for the law and his NYP placard priviledge and thus actually cover a news story at the location of said story.
Shame on you Arnold, you are a disingenuous reporter and a world class hypocrite.
