This is an older one I found in my archive. NYC Council is aware of the situation... we'll see if they do anything about it.

East 10th st and avenue a, Manhattan. Observed by lawandorder on Sat, Aug 08 2009
Hmm, let's see what we have here:
* a forged 9th Precinct Restricted placard
* not even in the so-called self-enforcement zone
* parked in a No Parking Anytime Zone
* a bogus church "permit" on top of the forged NYPD placard
oh, and the stuffed animal on top was a nice touch.
Better get to confession.

I think this guy's lost. There's no so-called Self-Enforcement Zone here anyway. straight out illegal.
88th precinct in No Parking Anytime
287 East 10th st, Manhattan. Observed by lawandorder on Thu, Jun 04 2009
I met the driver and passenger coming out of the Boys Club. They were most definitely not on duty, if they were even NYPD employees. Not to mention that the 88th precinct is nowhere near east 10th st.

I've caught this driver before:
Mazie Mazda:The Fox 5 Cretan NYP Placard Abuser
68th street and Lexington Avenue, Manhattan. Observed by Dick Tracy on Tue, Jul 07 2009
Behold Mazie Mazda who drives in everyday from home to NYC where she has a wonderful free parking spot to park for free all day. She is not covering a news assignment at the location of said assignment in her reserved parking spot a privilege a local resident pays over $7000.00 a year for.
Mazie is joined by fellow FOX 5 employee Cretans enjoying their free all-day parking spot at resident expense. They are like cockroaches infesting you home. You spray them and they go to your neighbor. These un-enforced placard abusers are never ticketed and the signage is meaningless depriving local area residents curbside parking while they enjoy the free perk the taxpayers provide.
No amount of congestion pricing would discourage someone from driving in knowing they had a free reserved parking spot where they worked.
Mazie can be often seen on this block or in the general area in similar restricted parking areas with her fellow FOX 5 cretans parking all day and spending at most 30 seconds looking for a spot while residents are excluded in their own neighborhood from this curbside parking.
This is utter insanity. Press placards are only valid for three hours in a red signed press zone or at the scene of an assignment. They are not all day free parking permits to be used near the studio.
88 Precinct parks in park slope for a movie
15th street and Prospect park west, Brooklyn. Observed by Peter on Sun, Jun 28 2009
Big SUV parked in no standing zone, to close to hydrant. The permit in the window did not match the lic.plate on the SUV. This spot is a favorite spot for NYPD to park and see the movies at the place around the corner. Once again there where open legal spots to park on the block, but hey they would get a ticket, right? Also, what is with the overly tinted windows that seem very popular with the NYPD officers that break the rules?

This permit is both invalid (not filled out) and expired! An NYPD patch in the dashboard is a nice touch.
expired Division of Military and Naval Affairs - New York Guard placard
460 east 14th st, ny, ny, Manhattan. Observed by lawandorder on Thu, Jan 22 2009
Though it sounds bogus, this government organization actually exists. The illegitimacy of this placard, however, is obvious.
at least you know where to find this van!
103 macdougal st, Manhattan. Observed by blowthewhistle on Mon, Apr 06 2009
Van abusing parking permit again prevents the street cleaner from cleaning this area of the street. The driver continues to flaunt the law by parking overnight and well into morning. As you can see from today's picture, the driver parks directly under the 'no parking anytime' sign. How do we stop this blatant abuse of authority? This person lives there, and is not there on 'official business'.
abuse of parking permit; parking on no parking street
103 Macdougal street, Manhattan. Observed by blowthewhistle on Fri, Mar 27 2009
Driver parks in front of his apartment building overnight and during the day. Van blocked traffic during nearby visit from fire department's trucks. Van blocks street cleaners in the morning. Driver of van clearly perceives himself as above the law. "No Parking Anytime" sign is attached to pole directly in front of van, to the right in the picture (van is parked directly under sign).
Parked at Hydrant
15th street and prospect park west, Brooklyn. Observed by Peter on Sat, Mar 21 2009
Not sure that this corrections officers permit is good for anything other than a parking pass for the east -west wing of the staten island complex. That is what it looked like. But the "corrections" officer felt it was good enough to park right in front of 1 of 2 hydrants on the block. Great example of CPR.
