Marty's Car
209 Joralemon Street and Court Street, Brooklyn. Observed by Winston Smith on Tue, Feb 08 2011
This is the car that drives Marty Markowitz around. If he is in Borough Hall, it is parked on the sidewalk next to the building.

I found the site Uncivil Servants and was happy to see that someone was doing something about the dangerous situation of firefighters parking on the sidewalk. Then I scrolled through the site and found lots of postings for the same block from 2007. I guess the firefighters are not going to be cowed by a public shaming. It will take until someone gets hurt (maybe a little kid on a bicycle) for the media to take note.

Henry St bike lane abusers - Our Lady of Lebanon Roman Catholic Church
Henry St and Remsen St, Brooklyn. Observed by lawandorder on Sun, Oct 24 2010
Taking a cue from placard-abusing uncivil servants, and from their neighbors further up Henry Street (http://nyc.uncivilservants.org/post/index/14876), parishoners of Our Lady of Lebanon Roman Catholic Church also enjoy abusing the street via bogus placards. These drivers are both on the sidewalk and in the bike lane (others were observed across the street in a No Parking Anytime zone).
When I asked a TEA as to why he wouldn't ticket these cars, he said he had orders from Brooklyn North. Looks like Gerald Nelson has some explaining to do.

NYPD on the sidewalk (again)
320 Schermerhorn St., Brooklyn. Observed by Salguod on Tue, Oct 12 2010
Some sort of meeting at the detective bureau on Nevins & Schermerhorn, and so the usual rude and illegal parking. Clearly not an emergency.

Sidewalk parking across from Hospital
Winthrop Street at New York Avenue, Brooklyn. Observed by Downstate on Thu, May 06 2010
The Brooklyn Sanitation Facility at 690 New York Avenue regularly has private vehicles of employees parked on the sidewalk on New York Avenue, Parkside Avenue and Winthrop Street. These vehicles bear an "off-street parking ID" but also says "not valid on New York City Streets" - Permit #03654 signed by Bernard Sullivan. This is an area where thousands are walking from Kings County Hospital and Downstate Medical Center to the Winthrop Street Station.
NYPD Parked on sidewalk in NO STANDING ANYTIME zone

Well Inspector Murtagh, here we go again.
Your arrogant above-the-law slime balls with your blessing continue to violate placard and all parking regulations for their own convenience and with your blessing.
Council Member Garodnick, Community Board 8 and mayor Bloomberg, when will you act?? Letter writing and blunder and bluster and rhetoric won't get the job done. Deputy mayor Stryker are you blind?? Pure unadulterated bull excrement. This is as illegal as it gets and year after year the same status quo bile from you officials and politicians. If you don't fix the problem you are part of the problem, and need to seek a different line of employment because you people are either totally incompetent or corrupt.

FDNY Parks on Sidewalk -- Save you from burning house, but run you over on sidewalk?
786 Union Street, Brooklyn. Observed by jooltman on Thu, Oct 29 2009
This one just has a union permit. Is that even a legal dash permit?
The employees of Fire Squad Co. 1 often park on the sidewalk near the fire house. This is ironic because a) there is a half block of reserved street parking for their private vehicles directly across from the fire house b) there is a public parking garage next door in case the free spots are taken and c) by parking (and driving!) on the sidewalk, they endanger the very citizens they are sworn to protect. Cars coming in and out of the garage can't see pedestrians because of personal FDNY cars on sidewalk. Ridiculous! 9/29/09 9:30 a.m.

108th precinct sloppy and illegal parking
50th Avenue and Jackson Ave, Queens. Observed by lawandorder on Thu, Sep 17 2009
Illegal parking abounds around the 108th precinct. This is just one of the many examples.
Call Deputy Inspector Thomas J Kavanagh and tell him to clean up his mess: (718) 784-5411.
