White Mercedes with expired NYS permit?

510 West 21 st, Manhattan. Observed by IamEntitled on Fri, Jul 29 2011

If you park your late-model white Mercedes every day on a desolate block festooned with No Parking signs, do you think no one will ever notice? Especially if you obscure the expiration date of your permit? Guess what? People will in fact notice.

Horace Harding Expwy/Blvd b/w Junction Blvd and 94th St - Queens, NY

Horace Harding Blvd and Junction Blvd, Queens. Observed by nunuvyabidnis on Thu, Jul 28 2011

NY's Finest have continually used the Horace Harding Expwy service road as well as Junction Blvd from 59th Ave up to 62nd Ave (No Standing Anytime)as their personal parking spaces while there are more than an adequate amount of metered parking and garages to accommodate the neighborhood's entire population

Personal spot in front of a church!

This blue Hyundai is parked by a young lady every night as if it were her own personal spot. It must be nice to have that convenience, while the rest of the Upper East Side searches for spots.

The fact that this space is used by handicapped people, such as my elderly mother, seems to be of no consequence.

Pennsylvania handcapped plates with NYS Police Surgeon permit

A rainy morning, therefore a nice time to use your out-of-state handicapped plates (invalid in NYC) along with a New York State Trooper Police Surgeon permit. The permit says at bottom that This vehicle is on official business. That seems highly unlikely. Isn't it just easier to pay for parking in legal areas instead of committing such egregious fraud?

I am really tired of out-of-state folks who use my streets, paid for with my tax dollars, to commit fraud.

Chronic serial scofflaw

At least two dozen complaints have been filed against this jerk by people in the neighbor, both with 311 and the 68th Pct. He's also been reported here once before.

This is a No Standing Anytime zone for a good reason: it's a dangerous intersection with a blind curve a block away. When some arrogant idiot parks here you have to pull your car halfway out into the intersection to see cross traffic, which results in several accidents every year.

He's been parked in this space for almost 24 hours and it's almost certain that he'll leave his car parked there for tomorrow's alternate side cleaning because he usually does.

I noticed that this neighborhood is over-represented by illegal parking by permit vehicles.

[Moderator's Note: this car is displaying a UFOA (union) parking permit, which is not valid for use on NYC streets]

This guy had a decal on his windshield right over the registration, and a placard sitting in his left rear window, not to mention a personalised license plate, all with the same Fraternal Order of Police medallion. The plate's number (in case the parking enforcement officer missed the point) spelled out initials for the Fraternal Order of Police and gave a rank.

No way would this make his parking legal under any circumstances, but he was confident enough that he would not get a ticket to park illegally right behind an illegally parked firefighter.

Uniformed Firefighter Association (UFA) parking placard abuse

FDNY is apparently jealous of the NYPD's illegal use of this space, as they are starting to encroach.

The placard says the user of the vehicle is an "active firefighter" on "official UFA business." Apparently that "official" business was overnight, as I first saw the vehicle parked there late the previous evening.

NYPD Transit Unit (Unit 869) placard abuser is back, but somebody from the 81st Precinct took his prime spot, and he had to move back a space. But don't worry, he's still illegally parked.
